So it starts.

How funny...I knew it would, but I remain unmoved. I debated whether I would upload this character but I decided to for the simple reason that I have the right to express myself in my art. Said person does not own a copyright on white characters with facial markings. Secondly a great deal of my characters use triangles of sort under and over their eyes. I do not believe I should have to defend myself in this instance but I suppose I should to hopefully qualm all the now 'Balaa haters' that roam freely out there.

IF Evana has a problem with my character, SHE should come and speak to me on the topic IN private! In these attacks all I see is her hiding behind her all too loyal fans.

This has reached a point that is absolutely ridiculous. When a person has to FEAR creating a new character due to possible attack from others. Jiona indeed is a white character with blue eyes, the blue eyes...well a great deal of my characters have blue eyes..I just prefer blue to other colors! As for the eye triangles, one they are actually not triangles, they are arrows pointing in either direction. Why did I put them there? Because its a tiger lion, she should have stripes. I tried several eye patterns and this was the one that seemed to fit. Secondly a lot of my characters have eye trinagles of sorts...its just a pattern I enjoy! These characters date back a good long while!

Aside from the fact that she is white and has these supposed triangles under her eyes, the character is far different from Evana's. My style varies entirely too much to say I have a specific style and I am apt to create random characters, draw them once or twice and never draw them again. No one has the right to harrass me and treat me as a criminal when I have done nothing wrong. Also the chest floof, I have actually borrowed after Trish's new style, as well as the ears with my own twist. It was in no way a copy of Evana's supposed style. I see a great many people drawing like this, why should I not be able to? When I first joined sheezy I openly stated that the reason I joined sheezy was to post my explorations of the cartoon form. That means from time to time deviating from tlk style, which I have wanted to do for a long time just the same!


Again, I should not be required to stand up for myself when this attack on myself is not well founded. So I hear people saying "This character reminded me of Evana right away." SO???!! What does that prove aside from that she is already popular. A statement like that leads me to believe that any white character with pink paws/nose/etc and blue eyes will be automatically remind folks of Evana. Does it mean that NO one is allowed to ever create a white character with whatever grey markings, blue eyes and pink nose and pads? Come on people, its gonna happen. Its not SO original an idea that people wont end up creating it unintentionally.

In such a case why not disney go around attacking people who create a character with Simba's colors but different color eyes?! Because the character is different enough to not reach a copyright infringement. I intentionally designed this character to NOT look like her, simply mimicking elements found in my own past chars and even then changing those to get further from her design. Of course there will be those that don't agree. fine, thats your business to choose to believe what you will.

I see people who I respect highly now attacking me..and to me in some sense its amusing that people who I thought were my friends would attack me without first talking to me, asking me if I was copying Evana or whatnot..and again have enough decency to pm me instead of slandering me in the picture comments section.

I could attack people for having elements of my characters, but I wont..why? Because life goes on, coincidences happen....people are bound to come up with similar characters. I wont attack every person that has characters with pointy ears and similar facial markings. Why? I dont have the energy and frankly I dont care that much. I have a life outside the cartoon world and these caricatures are a very small portion of my artistic realm which extends over a wide range of mediums, subjects, etc.

I should not feel goaded into a corner and feel as if I have to attack, as would a dog who is cornered. I am a friendly person that is easy to talk to. If anyone has ever had a problem with me...TALK to me..I will listen. My e-mail and yim address is oopenly stated. I do not attack others, nor do I urge others to. Ask yourself first..how would YOU feel if someone attacked you over ONE single element of a character. I doubt you would feel very flattered. Put yourself in my spot right now. Am I such an awful person? Have I ever directly attacked any of you? EVER?! I have been nothing but friendly and polite to every single person I ever encountered.
