I can understand if someone says 'please don't take my work and put it on your site' that they may get angry if they find it's been taken. But to claim people have stolen art, when they have claimed it wasn't their art and credited it to the proper owner . . . I don't see how that could have gotten blown so out of proportion. Especially since, apparently, most of those doing the complaining couldn't read the site in question >sighs< Actually, no, I can see how it got blown so out of proportion. It's called 'kill it before it kills you.' In otherwords, act before you know the facts then get the facts after it's too late.
And I do have to agree with ForteBlues . . . this 'OMG you stole my work because my character is in the same pose (even if it's a different character/show)' is getting way out of hand. It's almost like you don't dare post anything, afraid someone will try to claim you stole their art >shakes her head with a sigh<
I think they did go a tad over board. But then again, I , personally have never had anything of mine stolen. I know if someone steals the artwork from a friend, I just quietly tell the artist and give out a small warning. The situation could have been handled a tad better.
On Another note-Red's Post: Korcas comments on Gren/PMM were really uneeded. A lot of people could say the same about him, and its only obvious you would favor the website you work for. I really don't understand the bashing of competeing websites. This isn't poltics, yah know. '
