I'll be the first to tell you that I was excited to hear of a re-release of XCOM, and I'll also be the first to tell you I was saddened when I heard it'd be an FPS. Well, I learned today that alongside the FPS there will be another, perhaps grander XCOM that is a turn based strategy. I'm so excited I could do something terrible. It's not that I don't like FPS's, (I don't but that's another matter) it's that I love turn based strategy. XCOM was one of my favorite games, and I always felt sad that I couldn't get a legal copy, or at least couldn't figure out where to get one. (in fairness, I didn't look very hard). Then it came out on steam and I was so excited that I bought it immediately, along with all its (inferior) sequels, and beat it once or twice all over again. But this, this is something else, several generations newer, designed to be faithful to the original, loaded with awesome, I am so hoping this new XCOM Enemy Unknown is even half what they're promising, cuz then it'll be the game of the year. Crap, I just remembered, Skyrim came out earlier this year. It'll be TIED for game of the year if it's half what they promise.
Man, autumn release, that's gonna be frickin forever...
