- All You Need Is Love
LOVE IS SELFLESS.
If you truly love someone, you give to them without expecting anything in return. Sometimes, you may get nothing in return. Sometimes, you may even get pain in return. But that will not stop you or even make you hesitate if you truly love that person.
That being said, Christmas is coming.
CHRISTMAS IS A TIME OF GIVING.
With whatever little money we can scrape up in this crappy economy, we want to do Christmas shopping this year in order to express our affection to our loved ones. We do not buy presents as an obligation, but because we truly want to give something to those people we are gifting.
We should not expect to get anything in return.
I say this because a lot of Americans nowadays have a wrongful sense of entitlement. We figure, if I give you something, then you'd better give me something in return.
That is not how we should be thinking.
I am not saying you won't be getting any gifts this year, nor am I saying that if you don't get a gift from someone, that they don't love you.
I am saying that when you buy presents this year to give to your loved ones, you should do it out of the pure joy of giving, and not because you want to get something in return.
It is okay to WANT something in return. That is human.
But it is NOT okay to EXPECT something in return.
