I happen to like Lady GaGa's Bad Romance. Scratch that, I happen to LOVE it. It's not because of the lyrics, or the RAH RAH RUMAHMAH, or the creepy video, or the brilliant parody by the Key of Awesome. I love it for one main reason.
In any case hoovers were popular in the 90s, and now they're staging a comeback.
A lot of big electro names, people like The Bloody Beetroots, Dada Life, and Proxy, have started using the sound even more, and so far the response has been pretty outstanding. When I saw Steve Aoki in October and he opened with Warp 1.9 people went INSANE.
And now it's being worked into pop music?
AWESOME.
If only there was an instrumental with just the beat and hoovers... that would be the best thing ever.
Because Lady Gaga sounds a lot better when she's playing the piano with a diorama of the solar system on her head.
