Soo... I was bored this morning and decided to find all of the potential conventions near me, then eliminate the ones that didn't work (usually in middle-North Cal), and then finally to document the basic information of each one and list them in order. After that, I decided to post it here for everyone else's convenience (as well as mine, because I tend to lose papers way too easily). So feel free to look, comment, and try to attend. Just be noted that this is by no means an all-encompassing list; It works for me, and I think it'll work for others in my area too. :) An important thing to note is that there will be NO MIKOMICON NEXT YEAR. Instead, MikomiCon has broken into 2 subgroups under the same name; MikomiCore, and Otaku Rehab. MikomiCore will be the convention, while Otaku Rehab will be a cosplay group in the same area.
1. Anime Los Angeles- Jan.8-10- LA Airport Marriot- $40-50
2. Otaku Rehab- Jan/March (2 dates TBA)- Borchard Park- FREE
3. Anime Conji- April 9-11- San Diego- $20-50
4. Wizard World/ Anaheim Comic Convention- April 16-18- Anaheim Con. Center- $25-45
5. AX- July 1-4- LA Con. Center- $: one day=??? 4day=50-$75
6. CC- July 22-25- SD Con. Center- $12-$100
7. PMX- Nov 6-8- LA Hilton- $40
8. MikomiCore- Nov 12-14- CSUN- unkown prices (cheap though)
Okay, things to note: Pricing. This is more of a n indication to the range in price. Due to changing rates, or special conditions that could apply, the pricing can be very... varied. For example, ALA is $40 now, $50 at the door. Anime Conji is $20 if you're in HS and you bring your school ID. Wizard World Anaheim CC has tickets for one day, and tickets for 4-days. Same with CC; last year the 1-days were $12-17, while the 4day (now sold out, was $50 for under 18yrs, but $100 for older than that) If you would like to add other events, groups, and gatherings, please comment. Or comment to show interest thanks :).
Btw, I don't know what SoCal Cosplay is currently setting up, but they have plans for 2010 that just haven't been announced yet. Of all of these cons, I know I will be going to AX and CC. I will likely attend ALA. I will probably try to attend the other events, if I can or if I have money.

Probably not PMX, since it's pricey and it includes a lot of things that simply don't interest me. (like asian drama, music, and fashion) CC and WW/Anaheim CC are both primarily media entertainment and western comic conventions, although CC tends to have a lot of anime/manga stuff as well. That's it!
Kibas Girl Says:
I'm going for ALA because my friend and I are trying to go by train, and then for Anime Conji because there is this group deal where if you get a group of 10 people, it's 30 bucks for the whole group ($3 per person). If I can go, I'm already going with another group.
