Fireflies- Owl City

Gratitude is like many things I could use as an analogy. Most of these would be perfectly understandable, but I’m not using those.
Because to me, gratitude is like Fireflies. If you look in the wrong place at the wrong time, it’s pretty hard to find new ones. If we really look though, we can find them. At other times, all we can see are fireflies. The more fireflies you have, the more incredibly beautiful everything around you looks. “Gratefulness is a beginning to greatness.” Said James E. Faust. Imagine one firefly in a dark city ally. Now, imagine a whole tree at night covered in fireflies!
The dark is the best time to find those fireflies. As are the dark times in our lives the best times to look for gratitude. In vice-versa, most people don’t look for fireflies in the day. It sounds silly to look for Fireflies in the day, right? But you still think of them in the day sometimes. Do we sometimes do that when times are good and bright? When we’re fortunate?
One good tactic to keep our hearts grateful is to remember what we’re grateful for, and to keep a few close. Like keeping a firefly in a jar by your bed. Take something that’s beautiful to you, and represents gratitude for you. Keep it close. Turn everything around yourself into a firefly of gratitude. See how much better things are, how much prettier, how much closer to God.
Be a firefly in someone else’s life. Think how our world would be if everyone was one of these fireflies.

P.S. I don't think of this as the real good bye. I've already left internet art sites behind in my heart, life and mind.
