Okay, so basically for this Flip Festival coming up in a couple of weeks, there's this thingy where animators show their portfolios and get a bit of critique on them. I've decided to throw my hat in and decided that, since I'm showing it to several people who DON'T live on the internet, I figured I'd make a fresh reel with my most up-to-date work on it. I also decided to make it all flash, since there's no point showing stop motion/CG bits if I never do those stuffs. gave me a fair bit of advice on how to make a decent reel, and this is the result.
Since it's kinda a 09.5 reel, I probably won't bother sticking it on Newgrounds. Unless you guys reeeeeally want it on there.
As far as other stuff goes, I'm still waiting to hear from the Gamer Camp, but I'm hopeful.
Currently doing a proper storyboard for Date for One. One kick in the pants is that the stupid tutor decided it would be better to take out, imo, the whole point of the movie, into some stupid thing that doesn't really work (along the lines of Shallow Hal pre-revealing-she's-a-fat-chick). I'm also stressing over getting a new Cat Face out in time. Probably didn't help that I spent the good part of the weekend playing Brutal Legend and making the reel. >_>
On the brightside, come Friday we get to have a workshop on Motion Capture. We had one on the Milo camera dooflip the other week and filmed several clones of me walking about and being flipped off. Forgot to ask for a copy of that though. >_>
I'm planning on attending the Eurogamer wotsit on the 31st. I'll probably be a bit incospicuous. I dunno how these gamer types react to people wearing goggles.
Oh, and there's apparently another Newgrounds meet up coming a month after that. Fun fun fun.
