Werianu: So, Crochet Anyone?

Music: HOW DID IT TURN INTO A BOWL??? >:|

I'm teaching myself to crochet again. (Well, not really teaching myself, looking online for tuts and such) and I was wondering if anyone had any advice besides practice? I tried to make a round pot holder today, and I don't know quite what I did wrong, but now it's curved into a bowl/hat shape. Which isn't entirely bad, my friend's baby could always use new clothes. But still, point in hand, it didn't do what I wanted it to.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ^^
