So, I had a good think... and I realized something.
As awesome as Kirby is, the next Kirby game must justify this awesomeness.
Therefore, I have determined that the next game must emphasize the acrobatics of Kirby's movements (say, Mirror's Edge acrobatic), as well as power mixing abilities we have seen in Kirby 64. That can be done with a Wii, right? Actually put the motion control to good use, maybe? [tangent]However, I never ever want to see the fire/ice power be Kirby turning into a block of fucking ice as he melts it from the inside! Make it a steam power or something. Those enemies are pretty flimsy, pretty much anything can destroy them. Hell, you can touch them and they die. Disregard losing a hit point or two.[/tangent]
Will it be in 2D or 3D? We don't know. All I know is, people are going to complain either way.
