It took 3 years for Project Indium to officially -not happen-. Now I can happily say that the spirit of Project Indium lives on in a new form. It's called Aestus, and you're welcome to come test out the beta version!

What can Aestus do for me that other sites can't?

First and foremost, Aestus is not another art gallery site. It is agreed across the board that we really don't need another one of those. What Aestus offers is the opportunity to challenge yourself. Aestus will host 2 small weekly challenges a month, and one large monthly challenge with a prize. They will be themed, and give you a chance to put the proverbial pencil to the paper and get arting! As well as having site sponsored challenges, there is also the option to post your own challenges. These can be for any length of time you wish, and any subject. You could host a challenge to have people draw your character, or maybe you want to see who can draw the best Oprah Winfrey. It's totally up to you.



Instead of being competition to art gallery sites, we wish to compliment them. We don't want you to feel pressured to update constantly on all of your gallery sites, clearing new updates and spending hours sorting through your watch lists. We want to offer you an opportunity to advertise your contest ideas, polish your skills, and maybe win some prizes at the same time!


What does Aestus offer for the user who doesn't feel like competing?

There's really a lot to do. Although it isn't a main focus, you do have the option to form a gallery on Aestus and show off your artwork. You can comment to other users and get some new inspiration. You can also work towards earning Awards for your profile. You can browse new entries and help judge winners. Then there is also the Aekaki oekaki board for your drawing needs (and you should definitely join! Oekaki's are great fun.)
