Come the 11th, is my 5 year anniversary for using SheezyArt.
I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the half decade I've spent using this site.
It was mid October 2004, I had just graduated from high school and DeviantArt had started to intensively enforce their copyright restrictions on their users (mainly to do with copyright music). Many flash authors had a large portion of their galleries removed. Sqeezy, after suffering sufficient loss of content decided enough was enough. He moved over to the newly established SheezyArt where the copyright rules were apparently a lot less restrictive. A large portion of our small flash community followed him to the site, soon enough it became home to a steadily growing community of artists and animators.
I can recall waking up every morning and checking my updates regularly, to catch up on the latest submissions, collaborations and even drama. It was a very entertaining place to waste time on. I can recall myself really loving the drama side of the site, it made for great entertainment. I'll admit I was very notorious for it in my early days using the site, mainly because I found it entertaining. Yeah I know, I was rather immature.
I grew extremely strong bonds with a large portion of users on this site, whom to this day I would now consider some of my closest friends.
Late 2005 till late 2006 was a blur for me on this site, as I stopped using it as a regular due to my animation studies, girlfriend and increasing lack of spare time. Within that time I lost contact with a lot of close friends, such as Joanime and Smiffy to name a few (who I still haven't heard from since).
Upon returning to my status as a regular user in early 2007, I found the community buzz had somewhat died down from what I remember. Funnily enough I really enjoyed all the drama brought in by RTIL on the site. Because it reminded me of how I was when I first joined. It was entertaining to watch it all from the fence. After he was silenced, the whole buzz of the community seems to have really died down for me. All my closest friends very rarely update their page, journal and gallery. Many of which have stopped using the site entirely.
Although I think the community isn't what it use to be, the bonds I share with the users I now call friends are still strong.
Having Xenon/Joe stay with me for a month, visiting Nandi/her visiting me, meeting a majority of you in California, living with CC for 3 weeks, living with Spencer for 1 week, living with Aurora for 5 weeks, living with Ego, Tomar and Jaxxy for 1 week, Anime-Expo 08/09 as well as Comic-Con 08/09, paying CC $10US to unban Xenon (worst blood money I ever spent).. These have all been experiences that have made me realize how large a part of my life this site is.
I've traveled all around the world just to spend time with you guys and I'd do it again in a heart beat. I know to some this is just a stupid art portal, with very little meaning. But to me its much more. Its the building blocks that lead to many, many friendships.
Rock on Sheezy,
Rock on.

P.S. Needs more drama.
Also, here's a quick remake of a old Sheezy classic. Enjoy.
I miss the old sheezy. I've been here for about 4 years and I'm now caught in the same situation with studies and social life *gasp. I've just recently came back, but the drama seems to be gone for now.
