he will be needing insulin shots everyday.. and special food....
this site has been very helpful...

thanks for your concern about him.. it seems like he's going to be fine. he's a tough little guy.
when he was just a babby and I took him to get fixed they had to do a surgery on him because one of his testicles hadn't dropped. awesome.
when he was still a young lad he approached a huge tomcat in my parents neighborhood and got bit on the spine. I never knew this but evidently a cats bite can be extremely poisonous.. I guess it's the bacteria in their mouth or something. muyo had to have a tube going in him from one side and out the other so he could drain puss. that was so lovely.
muyo has lived in about 6 different houses since I got him in... 2000. he's traveled all the way to Chicago from Mississippi and back! he's survived all of his "brother" cats (Negative 73, Aging, & Cheesebag) who have all decided to go their own way with their lives.
anyway. enough with the history lesson.. I am so glad muyo is back with us, and I can't wait for us all to move into our new house (hopefully the middle of next month but it seems like the sellers are running behind schedule...... >
thanks again for being supportive.. my husband and I don't have any kids you know, so

is pretty much our baby.

It is the bacteria, there's a similar effect in monitor lizards.
Muyo has had a hell of a life! Freaking diabetes is like a small step, just wait until MUYO IN SPACE.
Negative 73 and Cheesebag are amazing names.
Good to hear - are the insulin taken orally? We've been giving Toby Oral Antibiotics since his accident - I think we're going to be taking him to the vet's soon to have the wire taken out of his mouth...
Glad to hear that he is better.
you pick amazing names for cats.
Whoa. Muyo sure is a trooper. I'm glad to hear he's on the rebound.

Yikes Cat bites do suck! A kid in my elementary school had to go to the hospital for a stray cat bite when I was younger, didnt see him for a week!
SCARY
Im so glad to hear about Muyo! I had a cat named Ziggy who went through the same thing... unfortunitly he was 14 and we had to put him down, but he was a very good cat and though I miss him, I know he's ok :)
Sorry about the shots btw.... I would hate giving those Dx

It is good to know that your cat is back with you two.
