Maybe I should join the religion of Shinto 8D I like the idea of spiritualism and the earth having a spirit... and plants... and everything. Really makes me feel closer to my Native American roots o_o since it's close to the same religion, you know respect for nature and whatnot and ancestors.

DERP! Shinto IS still celebrated in Japan, it's still very important. And some do still practice it as a religion. It's just not as wide-spread. As for the emperor, well... he was thrown out of it. 8D According to my friend who's lived in Japan, the "emperor of Japan has about as much power as Angelina Jolie" and is nothing but a rich dude. It's also celebrated at festivals. My friend in Japan says "Shinto is especially important when new year, festivals in summer & fall and fortunetelling"
