Silent Hill 4 OST - Cradel of Forest

Whelp...things here have been interesting. I was supposed to start school last Friday. The teachers' union striked over contract disagreements. It went on for a week. And each side blamed the other - each side said the other was the bad guy. But, ultimately, I'm behind the teachers on this one. I mean, my tuiton was raised 9% (about a $1000 more this semester) and the president of the university gave himself a 40% pay increase. No, not a bonus. A PAY INCREASE. As in, he will REPEATEDLY make 40% more. Why does one person need to earn $350,000 a year? Were you struggling at your previous salary of $210,000? I've always liked the teachers and classes at OU, but I've had nothing but problems with the system itself. HMMMMMM.

Anyway, my first day is now TOMORROW. Then I'm also at school Tuesdays. And then an online class. So, here's the general schedule.

Tuesday:
- Web Programming (FINALLY!!)
----- 1:00-4:30pm
- Foundations of Media Art (Mostly old stuff, but I'll learn video here)
----- 6:30-9:50pm (YIKES)

Friday:
- Introduction to Graphic Design (Kinda weird to go from a level 300 class with this teacher, down to a 100...wonder what she expects from me. @.@ )
-----8:30-11:47am (ANOTHER YIKERS)

Online:
- Field Experience in Integrative Studies (CAPSTONE, WHOO. Figured I'd get it down with sooner rather than later...and I have a chance to retake it if I mess it up!)


The search for a new job is...discouraging. I had one glimmer of hope and it went out like...*poof*. I applied to a bunch of places, but on Tuesday, I applied online to Old Navy. Why not? Three hours later, the phone rings. The caller ID? "Old Navy". Needless to say, I was excited. So, the lady on the phone tells me she has a job opening with Logistics. Basically, you work before the store opens, 5/6-10am, and you bring in the stock shipments from the delivery truck, log them in, put the merchandise out - basically, make sure the store is fit for open. And she said it was on Monday and Wednesdays. JACKPOT. So, she sets me up for an interview on Wednesday.

The interview went well. I think the guy interviewing me liked me. He asked me questions, and I'm very surprised that I really didn't...hesitate or stutter or anything. I HAD answers, and he seemed to like them. But, the problem arose. It turned out the job wasn't need to fill Monday and Wednesday. It was for Wednesday and FRIDAY mornings. If you look up at that schedule there, you'll see a class situated in that nice little time period. So, he wasn't able to give me the job. He did say he'd pass my application over to the customer service people to see if they needed anyone, because I've worked in customer service before too. (As I explained to him, at GameStop, you are all of the jobs other than strictly-managerial jobs. You are the shelf-stockers, the cashiers, the salesmen, the clean-up crew, the "logistics".) The people there seemed cool and friendly, too. The one cashier girl near where I was waiting for my interview talked to me now and then (mostly about Michael Jackson being on their radio over and over).

But...yeah...hopefully their customer service will call me back, but I don't think they will. I actually applied for that position, and the lady called because she had the logistics open. *shrugs* We'll see. Christmas is coming up after all. If push comes to shove, if Old Navy could even say "We can give you 10 hours every week", I'd have to choose them over GameStop. GameStop can't give me that guarantee. I mean, I got 10.5 hours this week (which is now 6 because I didn't feel well today and called in), but...that's not a guarantee. One week I could have 13, but the next, it could be 8. So, I'll have to see. *shrugs*

Umm...not much else going on. Doing some wedding planning. Welshi and I are deliberating between what cake we want. :3 We've got a few picked out - just need to decide and see what's in the budget. I need to go dress-shopping at some point. Maybe tomorrow, I'll go to Arena Bridal to check it out. I mean, I get out of school at noon anyway, and they said they didn't need appointments. We'll see. :3

Yup, that's it. Tell you guys how class was tomorrow (though I've already had the teacher before, sooo...>.> )
