If you have been watching me long enough or know me well enough you will know that I have 2 dogs, Melody and Dakota. Well... Dakota's final day on earth is upon us... She's doing terrible lately and it's not fare in the least to her to make her suffer... *sigh* I've lived with this dog my entire life and it's going to be hard to let her go... We're putting her down tomorrow. My Mom gave me the option of going to the vet with her and my Dad but I don't think I can handle it....

That's it for now...

I know how you feel :-(
How old was she...?

I know how it feels to loose a pet.

That emptiness that takes over you.Like a huge chunk of your being has been torn out at you think nothing will ever replace that emptiness. And nothing will.I am truly sorry for your loss.

Monique Uchiha Says:

I'm sorry to hear that, hope you feel better:(

ShadowWolf1 Says:

*hugs* I know the pain of losing a loyal canine companion. May she run happily through the clouds for all eternity.

Kstreet Says:

What breed is is? I can tell you that as a Vet-tech (currently in school)... sometimes it's better to remember them the way they were before, than to be with them when they pass. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's really hard.

The Calm Minded Tai Says:

I do not know who you are. I probably never will.

But I, and just about everyone on earth, can tell you that loosing a loved one, someone [a person or pet] that you spent your whole life with, can be the most devastating thing imaginable.

My cat Majik Died about this time last year. He was 16...old as time....he had brittle bones, and a failing digestive system. It hurt him to walk. He had an ingrown claw that curled INTO his paw. He also had severe tooth and gum decay giving him chronic halitosis. I loved him.

:mourn:

Yes, he drooled ALL THE TIME and his meows hurt us...(emotionally) But he was a kind and gentle beast.

To loose a pet you have spent your life with is horrible, but I will agree with . Remember Dakota like she was while you were growing up with her. She will always be with you and there is nothing that can be done to change that.

i, however, don't know the pain of your loss or the proper way of handling it.
but i can tell you right now that the cliche emotional thing to do is to watch.
>w>
it's probably arbitrary at this point, isnt it?

Ultimate Griffan Says:

I was states away from my dog when he was put down... I didn't get a final good-bye. They didn't even tell me they were going to, either...

Abstract Says:

My family recently lost our two dogs, too. I'm very sorry that you have to go through this. I suggest you go to the vet, though. You're going to regret not being there for Dakota's final moments if you don't. I know I do.
