A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her students by telling them how they made a difference.
She called each one up and told him/her and the rest of the class the difference they have made.

She gave them each a blue ribbon with "Who I Am Makes A Difference" in Gold letters.
Then give each student 3 more to give to others. Then report about it in about a week.

One of the boys went to a junior executive at a nearby company and gave him a ribbon for helping with his career planning.

Then he gave him the 2 extra ribbons to give to someone else for recognition.
The junior executive then went to his boss with a reputation for being a bit grouchy. He told him what a creative genius he was and asked to put a ribbon on him.
The boss smiled and let him.

The junior executive then gave him the last ribbon to give to someone else. While explaining what the student was doing it for and he agreed.

The boss went home that day to his 14 year old son and sat him down and said "Today the most incredible thing happened at work".
He told about how the employee gave him the ribbon for being a creative genius.

"I was driving home thinking of who to give this last ribbon to and I would like to honor you son". He said as he put it on the boys shirt.
"I know work for me is hectic and I come home and yell at you a
lot over your grades and your messy room". "Besides your mother your the most important to me kid and I love you".

The boy then started to sob uncontrollable and shook. He looked up at his dad and said "Today I sat in my room writing a letter to you and mom explaining why I took my life and asked for you to forgive me".
"I was going to commit sucide tonight after you and mom where asleep". "I just didn't think you cared at all".
"The letter is upstairs I don't think I'll need it at all now".

The father walked upstairs and saw a heartfelt letter of anguish and pain.

The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch and made sure all of his employees knew what a difference they all made.

The student, the junior executive, and the boy and the class all learned a valuable lesson.

Who YOU are makes a difference.
