Overall, it turned out to be pretty damn good. I'm not a Star Trek fan but I did see enough episodes to know the main plotline of the franchise as well as the characters. it starts off pretty decent when you see Jim Kurt driving a car...aged 10 or 12 and it slowly gets better from there. I love how the main characters are complete assholes to begin with but all become extremely likable at the end. I also love how the original Spock (Leonard Nimoy) appeared in the film as his future self just to tell us that he fucked up Star Trek for every nerd to spent the last 30-40 years obsessing with every little thing about the franchise. And the final thing I liked about the movie was Simon Pegg as Scotty. His performance was just sweet as hell which makes me have high hopes for his performance for the possible "The Boys" movie.
all in all, I liked it, the movie was kind to the new audience while respecting the old as the movie turns out to be an alternate universe.

JJ Abrams did a good job with it.

Isn't it Jim KIRK? I think that was his right name O.o
But either way: Awesome. I'm gonna go see the movie sometime when I can find the bother. (I watch the series now and then, just because I don't have anything better to do.)

I'm not a fan of star trek either, nor do I feel the slightest bit nerdy for wanting to see this movie.

That's pretty cool, I've yet to see it.

I guess I'll go watch it now that it's got the Mental Myles' seal of approval
