Request Trade and Commission Info
Because people have been asking, I thought I should post some information for reference. Please do not comment telling me how ridiculous my prices are. They're my hands, and it's up to me to decide what's worth tying them up and causing them horrid muscle pains for hours.
Mie, do you take requests?
Oh, teddy grahams, no. I barely have time to fill my own requests.
Do you do trades, then, oh stingy one?
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. But more often than not I don't.
Do you do gift art?
I most certainly do, but only for m'best buddies.
Well, then, seeing as how you've exhausted every other possibility, can I pay you to draw for me?
Ding, ding, ding! You've found my weak spot. Read on for my lower-than-minimum wage price list.
I borrowed this format from
Tom b'cause I'm a lazy bum. Thanks for helping me stay that way!
What will I get for my money?
• A finished product which I feel was completed with my best efforts to deliver a professional piece that satisfies and hopefully pleases the original request of the commissioner.
• An original piece. I will not use stolen/borrowed poses. If you have a pose in mind, or a general idea of how you want the picture to look however, I'm perfectly willing to accomodate.
• I will attempt to finish all commissions within 2-3 weeks. You will be notified of any complications either at the time of negotiations or as they arise via e-mail, PM, or IM, whichever means I can contact you by. If you need a commission sooner than that, I can rush for an extra charge depending on how much time I have to work with.
• A picture that has the client's active input. If requested, I'll send concept sketches and pictures of the piece as it progesses to ensure a satisfying final product.
What kind of work do you do?
I can do pretty much any Sonic, anime, Invader Zim/Vasquez, or furry styled character. I can try my hand at other characters from video games or anime, or your own fancharacter. I will not do any of the following:
• Heavy religious or political values
• Drug use
• Hentai, ecchi, pornography, slash, shoujo-ai, shounen-ai, yaoi, yuri, or homosexuality of any kind. This means no nudes with articulated anatomy either (I'll draw Sonic characters, duh.)
• Extreme violence or gore-- Mild is okay, but I'll tell you now, I've never seen a person's spleen, and thus, wouldn't know how to draw one.
• Dragonball
anything. Sorry, guys. I can't stand to look at it, let alone draw it. Besides, Tom's better at it. You want DBZ stuff, go commission
Tom.
• Hate to be picky, but one rule in specific reference to Sonic art: I won't draw anything seriously defamatory to official characters. Poking fun is okay, but I'm not going to draw your fan character feeling up Rouge or Shadow making out with Amy Rose or anything like that.
For fancharacters, I need a reference picture or a
very detailed description.
How much will it cost me?
Prices are for standard works on 8.5"x11" printer paper. I can send originals and finished products to the commissioner via USPS Priority mail for an extra charge. For CGs, I'll make a print on high quality glossy photopaper and send it backed with cardboard as well as the original sketch/ink. I can also include full-sized photoshop files(with layers intact) on a burned CD for an additional charge. The reason there is a difference in the prices for digi-ink and hand ink is because digital inking has an "undo" button. Several of them, actually, thank you Photoshop. Hand inking does not have any such thing, but some people prefer it. I can almost guarantee your linework will be much cleaner if you choose digital ink. Also please note that these prices are for
one or two characters. If you want more than this, it'll be an additional $5-$10 (depending on the complexity and level of detail desired) per character (You have no idea how much work adding another character in Sonic style is-- It might as well be an additional picture).
• Pencil sketch with no background: $5
• Pencil sketch with background: $10-$15 (depending on the size of the picture and detail in the background)
• Digitally inked drawing with no background: $10
• Digitally inked drawing with background: $15-$20 (depending on the size of the picture and detail in the background)
• Hand inked drawing with no background: $15
• CG(full color Photoshop rendered)'d pencil sketch with no background: $10 (Please note that Sonic style and cel style shading do
not look good on sketched linework.)
• CG(full color Photoshop rendered)'d pencil sketch with background: $15-20 (Please note that Sonic style and cel style shading do
not look good on sketched linework.)
• Full CG'd digitally inked drawing with no background: $30
• Full CG'd digitally inked drawing with background: $35-$50 (depending on the size of the picture and detail in the background)
• Full CG'd hand inked drawing with no background: $40
Here are a bunch of shamelessly self-promoting links so you can see how great I a-- I mean, examples of my work so you feel better throwing moneys at me. ::cough.::
Cel Shading - the basic style used for most anime as well as all the Zimmish stuffs. For the most part, lighting sources and logic apply-- Never mind the giant Irken heads. For examples see:
•
\"Mysterious Assassin\"
•
\"Ahn Minjung
•
\"Max Lochert\"
CG'd sketches:
•
\"Please be careful with me\"
•
\"Atashi ni kaeru made\"
•
\"Amy Rose: Calendar Girl
•
\"CLAMPed Kona\"
Sonic Team - (This is not to be confused with Sonic Battle style or Sonic X style.) For examples see:
•
\"SonAmy Fans Halloween Contest - Morbid Romance\"
•
\"At the beginning with you...\"
•
\"Follow Me\"
-- Sonic Battle:
•
\"sonikkun wants to rock\"
-- Sonic X:
•
\"Shadolf The Red-Nosed Christmas Nazi\"
Mie's default CG style - Or... what it used to be before Sonic Team style ate it all up. Yum! This involves my tablet friend and logic-- Two things Sonic Team style hates! Boo!
•
\"genki ni natte ganbaru\"
•
\"Yearbook Picture\"
Payment options:
Mie takes checks and money orders via mail, credit cards and bank transfers via Paypal.
Because of past experiences, I ask for payment after the sketch is approved. If all you're asking for is a sketch then you're all set, aren't you? But I'll still need my money.
Copyright and terms of use:
When buying a picture from me, you must state your intentions for how you wish to use it. You are obviously free to post it on your own personal website so long as due credit is given along with a link to my DeviantART page. If you plan to distribute the picture in the form of posters, t-shirts, or any other such media (for example, in online stores) there will be an extra charge for the right to do so.
Also, if you're asking for a commission that includes your own character(s), the image stays under a shared copyright -- You retain the copyright for your own character(s), whereas I, the artist, retain the copyright of the image created. I will not redraw your character(s) without your prior consent. In return, I must ask that you please use my artwork only in ways previously agreed upon.
Now that all that is said and done, note meh with your willingness to throw teh monies at mie! Arr! (Mie is not really a pirate. You should throw things at her. May I suggest money? That'd teach her.)
Pimmy Says:
Pimmy should throw money at Mie! ... If I had money ;-;
(in a good way!)
Though I seriously envy your amazing ability to be so shameless
chaokiller Says:
Yaaay for lazy bum-ness! *tap dance*
sylenis Says:
I've seriously gotta commish you one day.
But I want to do it at a time you're settled (of course, time won't be a factor for me) so your brain doesn't leak out of your ears. 'Sides, my life is crazy at the moment so I can't even sit and commish. *love* =3
