Don't ask why, but lately I've been thinking about some of my favorite cartoon characters. One of which is Slappy Squirrel. Of all the bits done on Animaniacs, hers was the one I felt could have made a decent prime-time spinoff. Not just because they did some funny stuff but also because they wrote her jokes that no kid would understand unless they grew up as twisted as I did. = P

Now for the Comic Book part. You may or may not know that this saturday is one of the greatest "Holidays" ever made.
That's right! It's Free Comic Book Day! = D
It's the day where all the little comic book-lovin' boys and girls run to their favorite shops to pick up special FBCD editions of various titles (and drop even more cash on books they normally would). It's also the day that comic shops attempt to attract new readers and get folks who normally wouldn't enter into their Monuments of Geekdom to stop and see what they've been missing.
So drop by your local comic book shop this May 2nd and show some love. Pick up some of the free titles on hand and pour through the regular stacks for something you may not have seen before. Who knows... you may just find something you might like. = )
