But it seems that now we ARE facing an attempt to turn the United States socialist!

(This was a joke on Gallo's part when it was made. Not so anymore!)

I have tried to reserve judgment for all this time, and that's why I haven't said anything political for awhile. But now, between the spendulus bills and an attempt to slip a world financial governing body under the radar (that's right, folks, the US Constitution will no longer be the final authority in American law!) just like the EU tried to sneak the Lisbon Treaty under the radar in Europe...it's starting to look like it's really happening.

We'd better be looking forward to the Congressional races of 2010, because I fear that will be our only chance to stop this train.

In the meantime--there's a building Tea Party movement around the country...yes, the conservatives have finally decided to protest! If you're interested in being part of a Tea Party, or at least promoting one, now is the time to take action. Come April 15th, this movement has GOT to become a big enough (CIVIL) force that even the liberal news outlets will be forced to take notice.

Galloglasses Says:

I'm never truely in favour of 'Revolution' but the tea party-ists have a point, something drastic DOES need to be done.

Major Says:

It's really scary what's happening to our nation. And yes, Im going to a tea party in Baton Rouge on the 15th. :D

Welcome to the USSA. For those of you who remember what freedom was like,

your time is up.

Jolie Says:

I hate to tell you, but since not everyone can have full "pursuit of happiness" (ie: gays can't have legal marriages) and there never has been any period when there wasn't some group or other being denied rights of some kind, this country has never run with the Constitution being the be-all end-all of the law. Heck, they can't even seem to keep church and state separate at all and that was one of the biggest things in the Constitution. If they were really separate, there wouldn't be all that praying at inaugurations and god creeping into every speech, would there? If they were truly separate, there wouldn't be people of various religions having to FIGHT to get the proper religious symbols onto the grave markers of people who died while in service to the military.

Some parts of the system are already socialized and have been for ages. What do you think welfare on the grand scale we have it in is? What do you think Medicare is? It's socialized healthcare we all pay for. However, put greedy pharma-corps, unscrupulous money-grubbers and lazy butts who feel they shouldn't do a thing for themselves in that mix and they quickly collapse the system with their greed.
