....Have you ever encountered an Elitist? Someone who moraly or emotionaly bashes you because they hold themselves in a higher regard? As artists have you ever been told you don't get 'art' because they think you don't grasp what they consider to be art? Do you seek help from other artist's only to be told they have no time for you because they believe you don't get it? Are you in college seeking this advice or have you gotten in from other means?

Please, vent here I'd like to hear your stories about it. If your going to college vent about the professor's who told you that you just don't get it ....that fine art is the only art... etc.Anything you can come up with is great those are just the key examples. I'm trying to come up with some good research to hopefully someday, some how, remedy this in any way, shape, or form.

there are always and will always be teacher especially who say you don't "GET" art.

Because they are teaching YOU obviously they UNDERSTAND the true face of art better than you. Which is crap.

I have had this experience and while it's a crappy thing to go through it pushes me to do better and sort of show them that just because I can't draw like Leonardo Da Vinci doesn't mean I don't have talent, and that the years I've spent developing my skill isn't a waste

8D I took 9th grade design and draw class for fun - I ended up skipping it because I hated it so much, which is saying a lot since I never skipped out on P.E. ; I hated an ARTY class more than P.E. wow.

He told me anime wasn't art and that I 'have to get away from it". He also ruined one of my cardboard sculpting things and called it "corny" 8D; so I threw it out and make something simple like triangle mountains on a flat piece. LOL I ended up liking it more and it was less pain but calling my first one "corny" and destroying it pissed me off. 8D however the douche bag gained respect for me because of the fact I was so damn stubborn. >D

I don't know if this will work, but here goes..

My art teacher had one of those student teachers.. the one that wanted to become a teacher and all.. He held up my clay cat and called it something like "This is how a kindergarten paints there stuff.." and what not.. I wasn't done with it. I was working on it and he picked mine out of many others and dissed it.. He was a horrible "teacher". Everyone, even the REAL teacher, didn't like him. He let all the jerks do whatever they wanted to the good students art/clay stuff. Kinda pissed me off. When I helped my sister out on her clay project. He said I couldn't help her. That pissed me MORE off.. Me and my sister are really close. Like a best friend to me and what not. But while he was a teacher there, he rolled out a piece of clay, rolled it back up, and it looked JUST like a guy's penis. almost the whole class burst out laughing. We all thought he was gay. he had a blow dryer for his "hair" (he was bald) and what not. But when his time was up to leave, the whole class, even the teacher, was relieved and had a small party..

LMAO~!!

um.. I think that's all but yeah.. I really don't know if this will help with whatever your doing. I thought it was funny enough to share with you. ^\_/^;
