Well, I haven't kept up my journaling promises, not like it has much of a consequence.
Lots has happened. My brain hit a wall at college, and after fall semester of last year I waved my white flag and came back home, disguised as a "leave of absence" but... I really don't think I'm going back. So the application process has begun again for a school that's near home, debating between a giant city university or a small catholic-based school (it may not be my religious element but nuns make me smile, I suppose).
And no, the prospects of becoming a professional artist have fallen through the cracks of my interest and ambition now. Better to leave it as a heavy hobby, holding onto one story since it has shown great potential as something worth publishing. Angel of Man, that is. It doesn't have to be something epic, a small book with illustrations, but I know my mother and my classmates and instructors back at college showed extreme enthusiasm in the story, you know, the kind that makes you warm and fuzzy, telling me they'd read it to their kids the moment they found it on the shelves. It will be a while before it even gets close to that stage, but it's at least a nice dream.
So what is a goal that an Uro can set her educational/career hopes for? Well, animal behavior and service dog training, of course! This dog wishes to train other dogs, and wishes to be around other dogs, and wishes to help people in the process. It seems a hopeful path, and I've been talking to people on how one gets into such a career. It's a new hope, I guess. Which is nice, I need those.
Also, my mother and I are finally back in our house after the November fire that left her and myself displaced for a good solid several months The house is beautiful inside, excluding the hundreds of moving boxes. It's wonderful being home again, I haven't been here since August.
I've been celebrating by growing seedlings of many plants, the list including brandywine tomatoes, red current tomatoes, yellow squash, many varieties of gourds, watermelons, pumpkins, grapes, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, oranges, grapefruits, an assortment of wild flowers, lemon balm, chamomile, catnip, marogam, lavender, valerian, indigo, morning glories, giant sun flowers, scarlet-runner beans, carrots, radishes, and... I think I had a cantaloupe sprout... but I think I lost it

.
....Please understand, most of these are just sprouts for now

. But it's a fine challege.
Once I get my printer out of a box and get it set up I should be able to scan some more watercolors. Honestly, my art production increases when it's not required of me. And really increases when I'm not supposed to be doing it at all. I'm still on my watercolor sketches, but they shouldn't disappoint. Just be patient as I get this box-filled room in gear.
PS: Also hacked my hair off, as shown by the pictures. Quite liberating, except now I get cold much much faster x_x.

you know -exactly- the joke I'm going to make here.
