Well guys, it's been like two weeks since you've heard from me, and it's time to tell

you all why.

The rundown: I had a stroke.

Why: the birth control I was on caused a blood clot. Huzzah.

Before there's panic and mayhem, I'll tell you all that I remember and then what was

told to me, I've been unconsious for most of the time I was in the hospital, and I don't

remember a lot. I woke up the morning of the 13th, feeling so disoriented and out of it,

I wasn't able to talk properly and I tried to get into the shower. I believe at some

point in the night I had a seizure and bit my tongue, and was suffering blood loss. My

mom came in after intercoming me on our little portable phone system, and she thought I

was on drugs I was so out of it. My room was a mess, and we were gonna go out that day,

but I opted to stay home because I was feeling so ill, and I wanted to clean. Well, the

family left for showlow and I stayed home, I was still feeling out of it and I made

myself something to eat, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The next thing I knew, I

was on the floor, with peanut butter smeared over my pants and the taste of blood on my

lips, probably another seizure. I got online and was talking to my friend Dev

absolutely paniced and didn't know what the freaking hell to do, so he told me to call

an ambulance. I called 911 and so did Dev, both of us were pretty freaked out.

The ambulence came up to the gate outside, and then they left because they couldn't get

passed the lock on the gate. My mom called after that, and was freaked out and started

calling all over the place, got my Aunt to go get me. I was really out of it at that

point, and I can't remember a lot of what happened after that. I know that my Aunt

Shirley came and picked me up, then they said she took me to my parents, they called

911 and told them they were taking me to the hospital and then they said I had a seizure

in the car along the way. That's the one KNOWN seizure, the other two might not have

happened but that's all we figure could have happened. I was up in showlow for a day

before they sent me to phoenix via airplane, and I was unconsious for a good long while,

about three days. My older sister Lynn went with me on the plane, I know that much.

They took me to Maricopa Medical Center down there in Mesa... oh god that was hell. x__x

The doctors said I had a "mass" in my head and were talking about going in and taking a

biopsy and shaving my head. ;___; it was scary. I wasn't aware of a lot that went on,

but they did an MRI and cat scan, and found that the "mass" was actually the blood clot,

and would clear up in a few months, so I didn't need to get my head cracked open.

there was this one student doctor there, though, that was absolutely determined to get

into my head. ;___; she had long wavy red hair and glasses, and had a total Dr. Hojo

vibe. Maniac glint and everything. *shudder* She was scary.

Speaking of the doctors, they had three whole freaking teams looking at me. o__o Neuro

surgens, the works. I was so confused, but there was one Dr. Fujii that was really nice,

very sweet girl who was with me the whole way, explaining things and keeping tabs.

The rest of the time between being unconsious and enduring hospital food, they had to

draw blood from me twice a day every day, two or three vials of it. >: Fucking vampires.
And to make matters worse? I have like ZERO visible veins, they would have to stick me

multiple times to get anything out of me. ;__; and most of the time these were students

so they weren't that good at it. AND THEN they had to change my IV FIVE. TIMES. the

back of my left hand is STILL sore. T_____T

And don't get me started on my hair!
it's down to where I can sit on it, and it was ALL. TANGLED. HORRIBLY. took hours to

work out the snarls, and even then I still had to cut out a large impossible knot. ;___;

Thankfully, my sister Lynn went to beauty school, so she'll be helping me whip it back

into shape next weekend.

Anyhoo, this whole mess seems to have snapped my family out of their passive states, and

everyone has started checking up on me. It's weird, like, "Where did all this family

come from??" Lynn wants to even paint my room. D: Crazy.

Anyhoo, getting back into the story,

Not too long, maybe a day before I got out of the hospital I got an epic skull crushing

headache. They had me on Morphine at one point, and I NEVER. EVER. FUCKING EVER, want to

see that shit again. I swear to all that is blue and fuzzy, I will throw up my shoes.

I was tripping out so bad, and it made the headache a thousand times worse.

Then my room mates... the first one I remember, it was an elderly lady by the name of

Jody. She had an absessed tooth, poor thing, but my GOD was she ever whiney! pulled

out her IV, begged for Cigarettes, and was a general pain in the ass. I eventually

ended up yelling at her in the middle of the night telling her to knock it off. they

moved me to a different room not much longer after that, but the people in there had

some sort of "Do anything you want" pass, and had the TV and lights on all night so I

couldn't sleep. They moved me again to another room with one woman in it who was out the

next day, so I was finally by myself, in sweet, sweet peace.

Didn't last much longer, I got roomies a day after that. The first one, poor thing had

cervical cancer that had broken through her bladder durring surgery. Her family was

pretty humourous, they reminded me of a pack of wolves, close but always snarling at

eachother. After they left, a woman who I believe had gone into diabetic shock was

brought in and MAN did she ever snore. D: I felt so bad for the first girl, she was

right next to her.

The day I was going to get out of there.. I could not WAIT to get out of there. I was

beyond sick of all the poking and prodding and vampirism, and stinking and worse-than-

being-naked hospital gowns. I wanted conditioner, a REAL hairbrush, and fucking pizza.

Some jerks came in and pestured us about bedsores, I felt so bad for Ms Cervical Cancer,

she was in a lot of pain and they still made her move. >:

People can be such retards sometimes.

Anyhoo, not long after that, my parents got there and we were waiting for a jerk with a

wheelchair for hours just so I could leave. x_x
They were nice enough to give me a popsicle while I waited, though. It wasn't a great idea, because I nearly choked to death after accidentally swallowing a large chunk of it. I swear it's like someone's out to get me.

Anyhoo, my aunt and uncle own a house down there in mesa that my parents were staying at, it belonged to my great aunt Ethel. We stayed there for the remainder of the two weeks I've been gone, to make sure I was up for the long four hour drive home up through the mountains. Hung out with Dev, we took him to Cici's Pizza and totally gorged ourselves, had a blast. I love that guy.

More than anything, though, I feel so honored by all my friends who stuck by me, and kept me in their prayers. ;___; Sent me get well cards and flowers, cheered me up when I was down... seriously. Thank you, guys. I love you more than anything, and I'll probably never be able to thank you for everything you've done for me.

Finally, yesterday, I made it back home. I'm safe, sound, and on the road to recovery. *nodnod*
They've got me on blood thinners, and I'll have to go up once a week for a while to get my blood levels checked on, but they don't need more than a drop of my blood for that. :33 I'm so thrilled that I don't have to have it drawn, you have NO IDEA.

Anyhoo, there's what happened. I'm gonna end this now, before I really bore you guys.
I'm doing good, my motor skills are roughly the same, and I expect to be drawing again soon. >:3

More later! I'll keep in touch! Promise!

DracoSkyne Says:

Geez, that sounds like one heck of an ordeal! Still, it's good to hear that you're okay. Though I'm curious, what kind of birth control gives you blood clots?

It kind of reminded me of when my brother thought he had a stomach ache, which we then thought was appendicitis since it lasted for a couple days, to only find out that part of his intestine somehow exploded. Needless to say, waiting 6 hours for what was supposed to be a 2 hour operation had us a bit worried.
