I just want to make one thing clear here... I don't do well with horror games, contry to
one of my old comics. They do indeed scare the living crap out of me...
And F.E.A.R 2 was no exception (Damn you Alma!).
But Silent Hill Homecoming?
So far not impressed!
Don't get me wrong, the game is awsome soo far. Combat is tight, if not annoying at times (those bloody nurses and Needlers are fast). The storyline is as confusing as fucked up as the previous ones.
But soo far not scary.
There were a couple of jump parts in the opening hospital prologue that did make me jump a bit, but that's it.
I don't think Double Helix, the AMERICAN team that made the game, have got what it takes to make a proper JAPANESE horror!
Though they did do a good job of hiring Akira Yamaoka, the composer for the previous games, because the music is bloody brilliant! Sets the tone perfectly!
I just really hope the game gets scarier as it progresses!

You might just be getting harder to scare. I first watched Halloween: H20 about five or six years ago and it scared the shit out of me for years, but I watched it last night, and it's nowhere near as scary as I remember it being. =)

Ahem...
Allow me to introduce to you: Cryostasis.
An FPS set in 1968, you are Alexander Nestarof, or something, and you'r being sent to a nuclear ice breaker called North Wind.
This game is really a gem, but unfortunately, it has been extremely overlooked, perhaps because of the developers being russian?
Either way, the game looks stunning, has some unique gameplay features, like the heat meter and the mental echo, and is scary as hell. Not in the "Oh my god, what was that?!" kind of way, but the "Aaargh, FUCK! *smack smack smack*"
It was released in October in Russia last year, and came out the 17 December in Europe. It has yet to come in USA, but it should be there soon...
Really, buy it. Now. Or, be a pirate. Arr...

Dude, I'm exactly the same. Anything scary, and I will hide behind a cushion.
I've still got a reclining fear of the Happy Tree Friends because of when I watched it at the age of eight.
Still, it's not scary, but it fucking scares me so much. If I didn't watch it when I was so young, I'd have been fine watching it now.

Same way here dude

I heard a lot of good stuff about the game but I haven't actually played it.
