A recent posting in my gallery, an unacknowledged character of the story in The Utopian Legend... a Vampire by the name of Horatio Monticello. He was the result of a small brainstorm what happened about a year or two ago when I felt the list of Legends important to the story were a little East-heavy. It's since balanced a little more, but some idea still remained in the very back of my mind, including (and especially) the Utopian variety of Vampire.
Which recently had me wondering just what other kinds of Legends I could attempt to formally introduce in Utopia... they technically have a decent variety, but not too many truly *specified.* Among the noteworthy in this world, there's Mages, Werewolves, Tengus, Dragons, Snow Lions, Kitsunes, Byakkos, Griffins, Cerberuses (I think that's the appropriate term) and now Vampires. So what else would there be?
I had thought about making a few "supplement" characters much like Monticello to show what a few other Legends might appear like. Legends I had been pondering about are the Centaur, Minotaur, Eastern Dragon, and just to make things interesting...a Jackalope. I'd imagine these kinds of characters testing their skills in the Neocropolis Coliseum, so they'd likely be decked out for a fight. It'll be challenging to make the Centaur and Minotaur, as cows and horses aren't an established forte of mine. It may be just as challenging, if not more so, to make the Jackalope seem more cool than ridiculous. The Eastern Dragon I'm imagining to be a unique case...
(And yes, I'd even begun thinking of names for these guys.)
Anyway, we'll see how this whole thing pans out. I still have the rest of Sketch's sprites to make, of course, along with some conversation sprites for Kazuya. It may result in a faux-mation resembling a game, if things work out right. :3

"That's a cross between a jackrabbit and a canteloupe!"

A Jackalope would certainly make an interesting character. =O But what about merpeople?
And yay for more sprites!
