I do not freaking believe this…
I can describe this situation with one word: \"Low.\"
(NOTE: Link leads to ecchi material. The article, however, is not. Just ignore the sides.)
Apparently, because the author put in an ex-boyfriend for Nagi, the otaku suddenly equate that with, “she’s not a virgin.†Well, ok, someone can think that. Lovers usually do get physical, if you know what I mean.
The problem, then? The otaku were FURIOUS that there was a possibility their FICTIONAL MAGICAL GIRLFRIEND wasn’t “PURE.†Thus, she now is not WORTH THEIR TIME, that they have none for a “SECOND-HAND WIFE.†She is a “SLUT.â€
Wow. I wonder what the FEMALE CREATOR (going by a random comment) thinks of these turns of events? Is she worried her sales are going to drop from this revelation? Or maybe ANGER that her fans suddenly think less about her character for not being a virgin, and wonder how they would treat a REAL woman if they found this out?
I then read further in the comments, and apparently the same thing is considered with Ciel and Kohaku from Tsukihime, and Sakura from Fate/Stay Night. Wow. So no matter how kind and supportive a girl is, if she’s not a virgin, she isn’t worth anything? This makes me… appalled. I feel like rounding these people up and lecturing them on how to think of people that don’t deserve such treatment.
I’ll explain this clearly. I am not one of those “women stay in the kitchen†types Of course, when you take my stories into account... Also, I plan to learn how to cook, considering my independent nature.). However, I do not agree in treating women “poorly,†as in, telling a nice girl I want nothing to do with her if they’re not a virgin. If that person got slapped, he’d deserve it.
Frankly… I would think anyone would agree to that, since it sounds 100% rude and obnoxious. Especially if they lost it against their will (like a couple of the above examples.). Barring the fact this all involves someone that DOESN’T EXIST.
I wonder what people think of Nagisa…
I don’t know, but this type of stuff incurs my wrath. I’m not one for thinking less of someone because of a minor detail, or if it’s a concept that shouldn’t really be worried about, and I don’t like it when someone else does it. It sounds completely wrong.
Chronicles of Terra:
Frankly, now I’m just busy, so I haven’t had time to think about it. Mostly concentrating on Project Cannibal, since I want to get my plan out for the character before they all get fed up with me.
Rosencruez Says:
I...had to take a few steps back and...LAUGH at these people. For ostracizing FICTIONAL people for NOT bring virgins when they themselves are most likely ostracized for BEING virgins. (Don't you just love double standards?)
