Well, first the good news!

The Way of the Shadow Blade lives! Today I posted the first of two drawings of Shadow Blade characters--a sketch of Arenak qos Tanar, the arch-nemesis that so far you've only met in passing.

The second drawing is one that I have owed for quite some time to Windsong as her prize for winning the Shadow Blade poetry contest: a drawing of Justine sel Eriyk--that's Erik's and Leah's daughter. I know, Windy, you were probably expecting a cute little girl...but I seem not to have mastered how to draw children yet, except for one freak case a year or two ago. Instead, I finally started having some luck when I began on an aged-forward version of her, showing her in her teens. It's not finished yet, but so far I'm very happy about it.

Now...on to the freaky-if-true news.

Somebody's making a case that Barack Obama in fact does not qualify as an American citizen. As yet we have no way to tell because physical documents have not been produced that can prove it one way or the other. I expect I will get flamed for even posting this. However, since the media is not covering it, I would rather that people be aware of the potential issue. We shall see whether these allegations are borne out or not--either way, at the VERY least you're about to get a very interesting crash-course in citizenship law and the Constitution. So watch on...

Lilac Wood Says:

Snopes article on the issue says that the report is false, although their argument is mostly that it's being too nit-picky with the law. Although, it's still interesting to consider what makes a person a citizen.

How come everyone's spreading around these rumours? I've heard the same thing about McCain

Asbeel Says:

McCain had the same issue: he was born in the Panama Canal Zone. Because they were US territories in both cases, they are qualified to be President -- as long as it was under the US Flag. Obama was born in Hawaii. Hawaii was introduced into the union as a state in 1959, and was a territory prior; Obama was born in '61.

This holds true for insular areas: if one was born in the US Virgin Islands, Guam or Puerto Rico while the United States had control over them as commonwealths, they could be a US President.

I know, I randomly collect information. With a narrow-minded father like mine, I have to be prepared.
