First off, I would like to send my thanks to all who perused my section of SheezyArt and "faved" my clean works and my adult works before they go the way of deletion.
I do not know if I will keep my account here or not but I appreciate what has been done for me here.
However, I do not support the "family fun oriented" direction being taken with the site. Correct me if I am wrong but this is an art site...not "Six Flags or Chuck E. Cheese."
I have to agree with the unhappy feelings that many have here about the somewhat unwise tactic of building an audience with the lure of "adult art allowed" only to kill that same audience support with a sudden censorship rule. The only wisdom that I can fathom is that there is an alterior motive and something to be gained...and I do not think it's bandwidth.
I do not know what it is so all I have are suspicions ...nothing concrete.
I have some ideas on how to adjust to this new order....maybe I'll execute them.
Nice while it lasted. Thanks again for your support.

As true as that may be, sensei, we still can't truly take it up with the admins of the site. Like they had said, it's their webhost that had requested it. If so be the case, it's them we need to put up a fight with. =

Family Friendly - A nice way of saying "Tyrannical"
Balade Says:
Yes this whole matter leaves us with a feeling of being used and now discarded. They claim that when we leave all our audience wil follow and they gain nothing, but still that can't be entirely true. Dispite any of their claims in the end we're all going to feel like we've been used and I doubt that anyone in charge here cares either wya.

Tis a Shockin Shame, a shockin shame
and I only came accross you today
A "Family Frendly" Concept for artists is one of the shortest leashes you can hook them up to, IMO, that is
I dunno, maybe putting all the adult pics on alternate host?
I mean a Family Friendly is still fine using the warning system, in theroy, any 'breach and resulting loss of inniocence' would, infact, be the viewers (or thier parents) responsability
Yet We all get penalised

I know, it's a shame because I really love your artworks.

Ahhhh...Family Friendly....the Nazis were "family friendly" too(as long as you weren't Jewish[or drawing ADULT])!

Copy and pasted from my Journal. Sorry, gotta' get the word out...

I add this link very tentatively... we don't know how this is going to turn out.
ArtDragon!
It is nowhere near as advanced as Sheezy (attractive, simple layout not customizable yet -- can only handle a small server load for now), but from initial reports, this archive is being constructed in response to the SheezyART policy change.
Be kind; it's just a newborn baby folks. It's being set up haphazardly on a lark, so things are a little shaky for the moment.
People are leaving Sheezy in droves. As only about 30 people watch me, I AM RELYING ON YOU to spread the word about Artdragon before it is too late and everyone's gone!
Tell them to check out ArtDragon! so we can restore our community as quickly as possible!
GO! GO! GO!

My general perspective of the issue is the problem is either one of two issues, or a combination of them.
First, it misunderstands its core Audience- my general impression is that the majority of artists are here because they find DeviantArt restrictive- therefore, technically, they're here for the porn. SA believe that its bigger than that, and has more potential, and the porn is holding them that- and by divesting themselves of that, they're divesting themselves of certain limitations- not scaring off its audience as I believe they're doing
Second, expanding their servers results in dealing with webhost and the like with restrictive rules (Especially with a partlly for-pay site), and they don't believe its worth the time, effort, or expense to seek out a less restrictive host.
Who knows how it'll pan out? But personally, I think this is the wrong direction for SA to go in- after all, if people wanted DA, they'd go to DA.

where will you be tho? i need to keep in contact with you and your art T___T its not fair, sheezy is just stupid! and now everyones leaving and im trying to run after everyone and one set of friends are going this way and another set are going another and i want to follow them all but i cant. I won't ever forgive this site, ever ever ever *sucks on a lollipop to relieve stress and desire to kill*
RaveWolf Says:
I agree with your post. It's very frustrating and hard to respect how they approached all this. They either made a mistake by overlooking the rules of their site provider or they deliberately deceived people. Either way, they have screwed up. I KNOW they have a right to do whatever. But that's not the point. The problem is that they led people here under false pretenses, with some people even closing down their DA accounts I think. That does damage, intended or not. Instead of admitting it was at best an honest mistake or at worst depection, they try some spin about a family friendly future for the site, while still claiming to have had no choice in the matter? We are not stupid. Most people know it's one way or the other. They can't claim both notions. Either they did this cause they had to or because they sincerely want a family friendly site and being forced to has nothing to do with it. Maybe they are spinning just to save face after having made a damn big oversight. Either way, something smells fishy in all this.
