So earlier today I was emailed by a girl who was a moderator of a website... and lo and behold, yet someone ELSE was caught stealing my art. And within a month of the other incident!
So I've decided: this is the last straw. I'm so sick of this happening, and I know why it is. I have a crap ton of images (sketches, mostly) on my personal art gallery (it contains most of my art from the time I was 7) and, though they may have my signature, they aren't watermarked.
So I'm taking it down. As soon as I retrieve the password to get into my account, I'm fucking taking it off the internet.
Luckily, SheezyART and DevART are going to remain untouched, but I'm never posting any lineart images again without a watermark. It's so sad that there are so many people out there did not learn common courtesy, or think it doesn't apply on the internet.
So some words of advice:
I guess the truth is, as much as you want to trust the public, you can't. There will always be those few people out there who will screw it up for everyone else. Don't risk having your art mistaken for someone else's. Watermark your work, no matter how stupid a lot of people say it is. And if possible, write your website on your image.
:sigh::
EDIT: WOW. Yet another! This isn't funny! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b196/cloudrunner14/theft.jpg

WOW! Some of my dragons were stolen. I'm never posting my work on my personal page again without a water mark. Thanks for the tip. This will help with all the line art that I do.

Wow that's just infuriatingly frustrating... But yeah, watermarks really DO work. I had an older sketch of mine off another site stolen on DA recently, but only because it wasn't watermarked over the image, just had one off to the side, which was so obviously painted over lol.
