Would any of you have any tips on making backgrounds you could pass onto me? Whether it be graphical themed backgrounds or scenery ones. I've wanted to make wallpapers and such for a while now, and it'd be nice to actually put some kind of background to the random images I do from time to time.
It depends on what you are looking to make.
What I ususally do is throw on some music and let the imagination fly.
It takes a lot of trial and error but you'll know what your looking for once it comes.
Then again, you can never go wrong with the rule of K.I.S.S.
Keep it simple silly.
That always works for me.

It depends on the content and composition. It also depends if you want the BG to be the emphasis or the figure.

They had some great tutorials on making wallpapers. From what I remember, for a more abstract wallpaper background, one of those tutorials said to start out with a black and white "Render Clouds" filter, then experiment with the "Hue/Saturation" filter for color, and the "Twirl" and "Wave" filters and the "Blending Mode" for texture. From there, it's all about your brushes and your Layer Styles. As for me, I also like to experiment with the "Color Balance" and "Levels" adjustment layers too - they seem to create a little more depth in the image.

You can also check out some wallpaper making tutorials on Good-Tutorials.com. Just type "wallpaper" into the site's search engine. Hope this helps.
