if you dont wanna read this long rant then least read the last two paragraphs to understand how i feel.

ok so guitar hero 4 is called guitar hero world tour.

ok to start my wave of crit. the name of the game as far as anyone can tell will be staying the same even though the game now consists of drums and a mic for singing. but (if wiki is right) appriently they have also registerd other trademark names but the one name they registered that matters is "BAND HERO"since it seems like the appropriote replacement for the origonal name.

ok now the "instruments"

the guitar - it now following rock band has gone of to a nuclear site and grown the extra 5 solo/child keys for people who cant reach that well, which i think on rock bands side was the most stupid waste of plastic just so they can go "duuuur we have more buttons" where as guitar hero 4 has the extra buttons for a REASON which i will say later

the drums - ok the drums when compared to rock band's seems to get lots of stick by people who already got rock band for the following reasons:
1) they look cheap
2) there are 6 buttons

ok now the first one against the drums looking CHEAP is just people going "OMG I DONT WANT TO BY MY GAME ALL OVER AGAIN SO I WILL THINK THEY LOOK POORLY MADE SO I THINK I MADE THE BETTER CHOICE". so maybe its cause harmonix TRY TO SCREW EVERY LITTLE PENNY OUT OF YOU ESPEICALLY IF YOUR FROM EUROPE OR ENGLAND for 200 sodding pounds and putting the release date so far back I could get a better look at pluto than the final release date but while i did wait for rock band money is still the bitch

and 2 the fact there are 6 buttons being 3 drum pads and 2 symbols and one bass. after people heard this the whole issue of backwards compatatbility with rock band poked its head but think about guitar hero. in guitar hero you have star power and so more than likly the drums bass pad will be a star power trigger cause other wise it would be the same as playing guitar hero on a normal xbox controller and stretching your thumb to press the select button.

also something most people didnt know about the Guitar hero drums is the fact that there more sensative and can tell a loud hit from a light hit. now most of you will be wondering why the hell would i want it to do that. well i will now explain why.

guitar hero 4 now has the most largest twist that i wasnt really expecting and is quite possibly the most saddest thing ever.

you can make your own songs in either real time or by putting in notes one by one from scratch and then guitar hero will work like a midi player and emulate the sounds of a real guitar drum and bass.

now while this is kinda of a good way to get all the people who say "why dont you jsut get a real guitar and make songs lolololol" this kidna rises new issuse. like for the fact that you now need to learn how to play the guitar like a real guitar which to be honest kinda cripples the game from being a game and suddenly actually making you think the question "why the fuck didnt i just get a normal guitar in the first place? :/" also if any of you has ever tryed making a song for the PC free ware game FRETS ON FIRE its so damn boring and way too tempting to just spaz buttons incompatantly untill only players who can play the songs are those with specially trained pet spiders.

my take on it.
well after being playing guitar hero 1,2 and 3, and being able to play everything on expert final.
i almost got rock band cause it had some cool songs and i liked the little fiddle round bit where you can make up any random tune for a odd 4 seconds and i found that rather awesome.

BUT like i said before harmoix were total fucking assholes when it came to its damn release date and the amount you had to pay was so unneedly high i got pissed off
also the rock band guitar controller to me sucks cause the way the buttons are layed out annoyed the hell out of me.

simple thing. if it comes out to under 200 pounds or dead on its release date "which is this fall" then im deffienatly get Guitar hero: world tour rather than rock band. but hell i dont care if it does or doesnt im going to get it anyway cause SCREW YOU HARMONIX LIKE YOU TRIED TO SCREW ME OVER!!!
