Ah. It has been a while since I last made a Journal entry, yes?

Heh. Over the last weekend I decided to get a new computer. The one I had before was doing a decent job, but it was very slow. What's more, the space available on the computer (storage-wise and running space-wise) was very limited. 40 GB and 256 MB of RAM. I never knew how painful it really was until now. I always cringed when starting up iTunes...

So yes! It's a new computer, with some better stuff. Better storage (1 TB) and better processing capacity (4 GB of RAM)... it's a delight, and very nice to see things load so quickly! Unfortunately, the computer also has a beef. What with most of the programs I've loaded, it seems to have issues with running Flash MX 2004 (some bizarre bug), and it doesn't even want to install Illustrator. The only thing I feel I could blame it on is the operating system: Vista.

Ah well. At least I got the "Vista Ultimate" out of the deal. Or as I've stupidly called it, "UberVista."

Anyway, you may not see much "polished" art from me for a little while, at least until I know from Adobe (ick) how I can upgrade the stuff I HAVE to something Vista-compatible, and (double-ick) how much that will cost...

I have one or two things waiting to be polished, too: A concept art for Mach Rider 2, Madam Tenko in her training uniform (she looks better than her previous portrait), a decent Dark Sketch picture (RAH!), and the first ever pictures of the 5th Tokaru Generation (aka Sketch & Heather's grandkids). The latter is almost done at the moment, but I'm content. I've needed to finish the whole Tokaru family, and this is another step...

So yeah. Maybe I'll put up the sketches in Scraps before then. But again, it'll be a while before fanciness returns. So enjoy what you can; I'll try to do the same. In the meantime, I'm being introduced to "Trackmania Nations" and "Darwinia." The first is freeware apparently, and the second was quite decent in the demo that I decided to get it in full. For such a well-reviewed game I think it was a steal for $4. Darwinia attracted my attention a month ago in a Big Lots and I decided to research...possibly for its unusual out-of-place appearance among the other ick games. Except for that Psychonauts...

So yeah. That's where I'm at right now. :3
