post secret is a project where people write their secrets on post cards and mail them to some address. they're collected and put into a book. most are the usual whiny nonsense ('i hate being fat' 'you didn't dance with me' 'my daddy doesn't love me' etc) with a few gems ('i ate a m&m off the bathroom floor' etc) but in general i think the entire thing is a retarded desperate egotrip and i hate the crap out of it. it's not art, it's masturbation by mail.
but
i think if i were to post to post secret
my secret would be
that sometimes i secretly think
about posting to post secret
even though i hate it.

I sat in a book store and read through most of one of those Post Secret books...it was sort of funny, sort of sad, but...
Immediately afterward I felt I'd been cheated out of ten minutes. 8( The Borders staff refused to refund my time.

I leafed through this when I was in the bookstore. It's a pretty cool concept.
Sure, it gets repetitive. There were a few clever ones, but most of them are the same few themes over and over. But it's fun to recognize and empathize with an intensely personal sentiment for just a moment, and it's fun to skim the book and see the spectrum of private obsessions. I just know there are people who buy this book for the purpose of laughing at the freaks and losers though :(
It's the same thing I try to do with Chiadro's Diary really. I've let out some feelings that I usually keep bottled up... presenting them in a way that's hopefully entertaining to normal people.
Furries and birth control in the text ads. Wonder which keyword set that off.
