Has anyone ever noticed a trademark "Scream" in some movies? If not, you might now, someone showed me this awesome video of a medley of what are called "Wilhelm screams." Enjoy! =3 (Unless you've seen it already... in which case, enjoy again!)

I think they added a lot of those in.

Alchera Says:

I Wilhelmed you into Wilhelmism!

Jiden Says:

That scream stuff is because of sound effects libraries. You buy them, they're royalty free, and you can use them in any movie for a lifetime.
There are other sounds that are the same across many movies because of this.
Gates and doors opening and closing are a big one I seem to notice.

FOX2 Says:

Funny, I remember Toy Story, Star Wars and Indiana Jones series having that scream but never in Reservoir Dogs.

Minstrel Ayreon Says:

That's SO funny with stock sound effects! There's also that certain thunder effect you hear in all the old movies...I think Young Frankenstein makes fun of it. Know which one I mean?

Nutamu Says:

I've not only noticed the scream but a few other sounds (just the other day I pointed out they were looping the sound of children laughing/playing on Stargate SG-1...I knew it because I've heard it a lot in movies and tv).

There's the woman's scream, the man's yell of pain, the children playing just to name a few offhand.

I assumed it was because it was a stock sound.
