Well thought i'd throw out an update for those interested.
Basically i've kept silent about this for a while now but i'm starting to feel that Sheezyart has become a place where myself and a few other people aren't suited to. People just aren't interested in wallpapers anymore... i haven't seen anything front paged or featured in ages and i feel like that my position as a cast member has little meaning if the section that i look after has nothing going for it apart from a few people making some damn good work but with little amounts of decent feedback or covereage.
The problem is larger though because while there are dedicated sites for wallpaper artists they tend to be quite elitest about the whole thing and again not enough covereage for those who really do try.
I'm not sure on how i'd personally go about fixing the problem though...i'll have to think on it i suppose.
In other news though i have a radio show and i'd like it very much if people would listen in whenever it is possible for them.

Connect using I-Tunes:

Connect using winamp:
If you use Winamp, simply click on theListen button:

Amen to the wallpaper issue. I have barely any drawing talent though I know drawing takes time and effort but so does wallpaper designing. We take as much precision as anyone else when it comes to perfecting an image. So some of us can't draw.. it doesn't mean we should be cast aside.
I did manage to get one front page about 2 weeks ago on my Nemchan account, course that was followed by slews of people bitching about it and so on. I agree that wallpapers aren't appreciated here anymore, maybe partly because people assume that all a wallpaper artist does is cut/crop and image to the right size or because of the large numbers of walls that come out involving a character pasted onto a solid color bg with poor cropping (usually ms paint fill bucketing). Then there's the fact that there are a ton of people who still think that the Desktop Wallpaper section is for posting their desktop screenshots so others just assume no work there is the users...

I use to love making wallpapers....Hell I use to love SA. Wallpapers are not appreciated here on the site anymore. Probably the reason why I never make wallpapers. Plus the site is becoming another DA, but thats another story for another time. But anyways, I agree with you on the wallpaper issue.

You know, I haven't realized that whole wallpaper thing until now. The popularity of artistic wallpapers has really gone down lately, and it's a shame. It's artwork in itself, and I can tell by your work and many others that it takes quite some time to make something beautiful. I don't know.. As for me, I think wallpapers, digital paintings, traditional stuff etc are all different kinds of artwork. It always shows when effort is put into them!
Oh and I'll try to listen in on the radio. Sounds neat. :3

People tend to think that Graphic Artists put no effort into their works. Plus, a lot of the time, that category gets screenshots put into it instead of the actual work. >_>
I understand what you mean about being on staff, but I really think we Graphic Artists need someone (or two) on the staff who know our stuff and can stand up for us if the need ever arises.
I think it would help to get more exposure if the staff featured some of the walls as well and maybe had a news article about it.
