Hey gang! I'm writing from my sister Suzy's house in Laguna Hills! We've made our annual Christmas trip here, and I'm so glad! It's nice to see everyone again, especially my nephew Simon, and the poodle Joey!
Anyway, I came to my parents' house in Hillsborough on Friday. I wasn't working that day, so I decided I'd go home. I took the train to Millbrae, and Dad picked me up.
Before we drove down, my folks decided we should exchange our gifts to each other. That way, we'd have less to take down. They gave me an iHome. It's a clock radio that charges and plays iPods. It plays CDs too!
Anyway, we drove down from Hillsborough this morning. Dad would have preferred to drive down yesterday afternoon. He figured there would be heavy traffic in Los Angeles in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. But Mom insisted we go today. We got an early start, driving about 6:30. We actually made good time. We did hit some traffic between Glendale and Santa Ana, but it wasn't standstill traffic. We arrived just before 2 o'clock.
Mom wasn't sure if we'd be there in time for the Loehrs' Christmas party. I was really looking forward to the party, and hoped we'd get there in time. Fortunately, we arrived with time to spare. Mom wasn't planning on going. She wasn't feeling well. I thought we might not go at all, because Brian twisted his ankle and had to ice it a while. But we went the Loehrs' house. Mom stayed home, while we brought Simon. He was the hit of the party! It was another great big buffet, with lots of meat. I always start off with a shot of gluug, and end it with a bowl of rice pudding. Tomorrow's going to be a big Christmas gathering. I'm looking forward to it!
