- "Five o'Clock World"- The Vogues
Right now, I'm critically analyzing one of my visual sources from a previous English 111 thesis; that source is
Superman: Red Son. This "graphic novel"* is my second favorite work of all time (first is Alan Moore's The Watchmen), and cleverly showcases a Soviet Man of Steel instead of an American Superman in the context of an Elseworlds (NOTE: DC recently renamed Elseworlds "Tales of the Multiverse") story.
My criteria for analysis regarding why I chose the source is the writer's characterizations for Batman and Superman. As of now, I'm determining why the motivations for both men within the second issue of Red Son true to each character's cores.
If you've read this tale and have and have any comments or suggestions, feel free to share them!
*I hate this euphemism; it's a comic book, and always will be one.
erikLindemann Says:
It's a graphic novel so that we nerds sound more intellectual.

I remember one time I went into Borders and asked where the comic books were. The guy behind the counter's lips got all tight and he looked mad, then he said "We don't sell comic books here, we sell GRAPHIC NOVELS!" I think I physically stepped back. I was sorta scared!

Though ultimately the joke's on him; what I was actually looking for was a Trade Paperback. Ha!
And there's another euphemism for you.
