I always pitured some sort of dirty word when they said Smurf when I was little. But was because my brother is a very bad influence and told me they cursed when they said Smurf.
I always watched Smurfs like it was a Mad Lib or something. just fill in the blank with whatever you feel like.

I can't watch Smurfs innocently. O.o after the whole 'Smurfs are Communist propeganda' stuff we found in humanities...and then Smurf being equivilant to fuck, my brain has just hit the mind rot.
Smurfs are still on TV? Wow. But yeah, the flexibility of the word 'smurf' kind of asserts itself if you think about it too hard. I've been desiring a suitable occasion to say "smurf you!" to someone.
