Alright, people.
This part has to do with stories I haven't started yet.
I'm looking for a new plotline for this year's NaNoWriMo...yeah.
Have fun.

The Memory of Running
Ryan loved to run. He didn't care much for the A's on his report card, or the music trophies on his shelf, or the collection of taekwondo belts lined up along his wall. No--it was always the track and field plaques that he took the most pride in.
And it was lucky that he was so good at it. Because the night Ryan came home late and was met with blazing flames, he had never run faster.
But being shifted from foster home to foster home does things to your mind that Ryan would have never thought of. Running became second priority, for once, because before he never had the problem of deciding how to just get by. When a little girl shows up after running away from own home however, she's determined to make things right for a mysterious reason...
-----This story was actually a dream I had, so I can basically map out the plotline. The characters interest me since I've always been fascinated with running myself--especially since I read Maniac Magee--and I'm kinda eager to write it.
Before I Wake
Jackie Romero loved her family to bits. Sure, it was broken and she couldn't deny it was dysfunctional, but she loved her mother and father all the same. Jackie just wished they'd return the favor.
She knew they weren't always like this. She faintly remembers a time when they were happy and always smiling--of course, that was when her twin Adele was alive. Not that Jackie remembers much of her, really. Just stories from her father and old photos from her mother. Nothing really makes much sense, but Jackie doesn't mind.
Until a portfolio on her father's desk tells all.
All of a sudden Jackie finds herself alone and on the run from the government for something she doesn't even remember. What's going on? And why does it feel like everyone's lying to her?
-----A DVD project for my Biology Class. *hinthint* It took me a long time to work out the storyline, but I think I've finally got it. As usual, the characters still need to form themselves as well. :/

moodylynn Says:
well im favoring the memory of running 'cuse there dosent seem to be an ending yet and you do better when theres no ending in sight
Clorin Spats Says:
MmmMMmm...I like them both...but The Memory of Running seems to have caught a little bit more of my attention~
Maniac Magee is a great book, I wish I had it with me right now.
pur plec loud Says:
I'll have to disagree with the others and say Before I Wake.
Oh man, I've read Maniac Magee like...twelve times, NO KIDDING. It's an awesome book.
Ah! So this is to choose for NaNoWriMo? Ahhhh, gotcha. I'm doing a sequel to the one I wrote last year, but cha know, I need to work on the plot before November actually rolls around...you reminded me...
HolyCheesecakes Says:
NaNoWriMo is the CHEESE. anywho, The Memory of Running totally caught my attention
EtherealMog Says:
In this case Before I Wake is rather interesting but I think that The Memory of Running has more in terms of an interesting or holdable storyline, that and you have a keen interest to write that story as you yourself are interested in the main plot point which always helps.
Also I think Before I Wake is different because Ryan has a lot and yet running has always been the big point in his life, why? What about the other achievements he has, why are they second best to it? Then running becomes second best which means whatever it is now is something more important than life itself to him.
Wasn't going to say this, but I'll say it anyway...Hope this helps
