I've decided to take 18 of my remaining 100 Theme Challenge submissions and create a complete story that began with Theme #44: Two Roads. It's basically what if I lived in the 1940's with my beloved and was the Premier of the Soviet Union during WWII.

The idea came to me when I was playing a game that essentially places you into this role; that game was Civilization III: Conquests. However, instead of focusing solely on the military and political aspects
throughout the story, I want to showcase the emotions and feelings that go into the complicated task of guiding a country... and how certain choices can alter the world in ways that were never imagined.

My goal is not to romanticize the former Soviet Union. In fact, one of the major plot points is how in post-WW2, my character becomes disillusioned by the Soviet system and begins a plan to essentially destroy the C.C.C.P. [U.S.S.R.] from within in a proactive manner. No, the point of this tale , beyond helping me improve my storytelling and written works, is to put myself in the position of a world leader so that I can understand the pressures and influence that one person can have over many.
