My mom, aunt, younger cousin and I went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix today. The best part?

It was a 7:00 advance showing. And everything was free.

Yes, the tickets were free, we got cool VIP tags to wear (which featured Voldemort), free posters, free notepads, and free gift cards worth $15 at the snack bar in the lobby. The movie in itself was awesome, although I missed the energy/excitement that prevails at the midnight showing of popular movies. The sort of energy I felt at the Star Wars premiers and Harry Potter ones wasn't there. There was a good aura there though, and everyone clapped when the movie was over, which hardly ever happens anymore.

As for what I thought of the movie, it was very good. The Weasly Twins' exit? Outstanding and highly entertaining. Grawp was surprisingly well done as well-they made him look cute, and his little crush on Hermoine was adorable.

I still believe they got the wrong person to play Professor Umbridge appearance wise; her personality was PERFECT for the part, though. As for what happened towards the end; the whole fiasco in the Department of Mysteries was too short, and in the book, it wasn't the Avada Kedavra curse that was used on Sirius. The Avada Kedavra curse is GREEN, whereas in the book it clearly stated that the curse that pushed Sirius beyond the veil was RED.

The movie wasn't nearly as long as the last one. When we got out, it was around ten-ish? And there were people in line for the midnight showing. They were lounging about on blankets on the floor, playing cards, talking, and reading the book. I wish I could've joined them in line and seen the movie again, but the midnight showing was sold out. There's just something exciting and fun and cool about being around so many people who are just as big of fans as you are.
My advice? Go see the movie. It's awesome!
