So I just became in possession of a 9x12 wacom tablet of AWESOME. I can't wait to begin using it. Although, I've used (much smaller) tablets before. I could never really get the hang of drawing on them. With this one being so huge, maybe something good will come out of it (especially in Flash, since I find drawing in that program the hardest).
Only problem is the person who gave me the tablet didn't have the CD, so now I have to find the drivers and such on the internet. Download them, and then configure, configure, configure. Lol. Photoshop, Flash, my computer.
The worst part is that I'm probably going to reformat at the end of this month so I'll have to do it all again.
Currently, my home windows machine boots off the slave drive, and with all the rendering and capturing I'm doing now (I'm a video student) it's hanging a lot. Plus I really didn't like all my windows stuff being on the D: Drive anyway.
But the advantage to all this is that at the end of this month I get Adobe CS3 Production Premium! WOOHOO! For 600 USD(awesome dramatic crazy student discount) I get:
Photoshop CS3 Extended (<- difference is it has video and 3d stuff thrown in. AWESOME SHIT)
ImageReady
Premiere Pro CS3 (video editing)
AfterEffects Pro CS3 (Video effects making)
Illustrator CS3
Flash Pro CS3
Ultra CS3 (Vector keying, new version of chroma keying. Basically it's a green/blue screen program)
OnLocation (audio recording with cameras program)
SoundBooth (audio authoring/editing program)
Encore (DVD Authoring)
Ah... I creamed myself when I saw the price. I'll probably wet myself when I gt the box, and then again once everything is installed.
Everything is put on hold until this weekend though (June 1 -3) as I am participating in the 48 hour film project/contest thing.
http://48hourfilm.com, I belive is the URL.
I'll be Asst. Editor, Asst. Storyboard artist, the person who comes up with the script ideas(but doesn't write the script... Dunno if that even HAS a name), cameraman, and script supervisor. I might be more stuff, but hell if I know.
Hopefully I'll get my hands on the final thing so I can submit it here. Speaking of which, I should really try to submit all my videos here. (The ones I've created myself/been on a project with are not that many)
Usually I'm just the editor.
I'm good at editing, but... I don't really want to do that for the rest of my life. Ironic, considering I'm now asst. Editor on two TV shows in Canada and unofficially working under someone else as an editor and general office monkey. Dx
ANYWAYZ. When I get back from the 48 hour film project, I have a final english paper due. 2k words about subliminal imagery as an art form, as used in Fight Club. Should be easy, but it's due wednesday. Dx
If I get some free time I'll down-convert my videos to flash to upload them here.
In the meantime, though, I've got a lot of random shit on
http://myspace.com/sqamv videos and

if you're interested. Most of it is crap down in my free time, or AMVs, though.
Speaking of which, if you're into AMVs, I'm on the .org, too.

Haven't edited anything in about a year, though.
I have something in the works for AWA, if I get off my lazy ass and finish it, however...
Oh! Right. AWA. If you want to meet AMVers, and/or me, I go there every year. This year will be particularly awesome since I'll be recording everything through a {probably, though as of yet undecided, really) Panasonic DVX100. Not top of the line, but crtainly better than most.
LAWL LONG JOURNAL ENTRY LIKE ANYONE ACTUALLY READS THESE.
