Happy Buy Yourself a New Calander Season. Bar the people in China who celebrate it in three months. But I'm betting that the censored version of the net over there has my page on the blocked list. If not, I'll make it a new years resolution to try for it.

Okay. So we have the Wii. Not a huge deal - everyone on Sheezy bar Xenon and Ota seem to have them.

Went out and bought some third party and second hand Gamecube stuff, because despite being an avid F-Zero fan I never got around to playing the Cube.

Turns out the second hand junk we have from Gameplay isn't recognised by the Virtual Console. So no Mario 64 until Classic Controllers become reavailable nationwide. And the only copy of FZero GX for sale in the whole of Hertfordshire is scratched to ribbons and was returned to Gamestation fnord the day after.

All this chasing about for the console would be silly enough if it wasn't for the sad fact I'm not taking it with me to Derby. Equal split of the console between me and Spinal means it's fairer for me to catch the train back home to play Wii and Cube games than it is for him to try the same thing.

Fortunately, the PS2, all its games and essential Active Game controllers is mine. And therefore I'll be playing Guitar Hero more religiously than ever...

I'm going to have to be getting me a Gametrak.

Derby's a nice place. Right in the middle of the UK as far as train routes go (despite the rate hike recently, I still prefer the trains to the roads), so I'll be able to get everywhere relatively easily. And there seems to be enough there to keep me busy.

For the people who skim read my last journal, or didn't bother, I have an 18k-20k/year ($32000-$36000) Flash Developer job starting there at the end of the month. Turns out being able to make a GTA style scrolling engine in Flash paid off.

Got a flat organised hopefully. Nice little one bedroom ground floor thing in the middle of town. £325pcm ($600). I think that's affordable.

The event being organised by me, Rinzei and Galloglasses for Fish vs Swords is still being planned. Thanks to Ota nearly botching our plans without realising it we got into panic mode over the entire thing.

Still working on the details my end, and got to confirm it with the rest of the people involved with it. And I'll need to check with fnord Channel Cat whether we still have restrictions on resubmitting pieces. Might end up having dire consequences if we do.


Uncle Luis says I should be doing more Flash work. Otherwise he'll hunt me down.

I've been sitting on that BBS for near enough a year straight without doing anything productive in the world of Flash. The socialising with the regulars of Newground's fnord forums may be nice, but I didn't actually do anything last year for the Portal.

I still have no idea why you're all watching me Other than the effort required to de-watch me doesn't bear thinking about. So for those who still actively watch me I'd like to issue a request...

... Oh hell...

I'm turning into one of those developers who needs his fan base's constant nagging to keep him going... I need ibuprofen...

Forget it. I'll either do something spectacular for 2007, or watch you all outperform me and love it either way

- Meet up with everyone who can make it to the Gosh Web Comic and Small Comic Convention 2007
- Five Star all songs on Guitar Hero I and II
- Learn to drive a roadworthy vehicle. I'm thinking Motorcycle
- Keep New Sanctum and RealitySofa running
