Hello all. Or, whoever reads this journal.
I have decided to totally and completely scrap my current comic. It will be ressurected and improved greatly once I re-do it. :3
New ideas for my comic are as follows. It's loooong. I love anyone who reads this whole thing. xD
I'm re-doing the theme, time and characters of my world completely. No more technology. No more big cities. No more advanced weaponry and guns and biotechnology or man-made feral-supporting injections. None of that fancy, sci-fi futuristic crap.
Now, my planet I have created (still nameless, btw) is more fantasy and less futuristic. No cars, no telephones, no computers, no nothing. Very primitive. There's now pirates, asassins, theif organizations, kings, queens, and DRAGONS xD But not like "rawr fire breathing scary" dragons. More on that later. No. Now, there's more freedom as to what I can do with my races and characters and such.
Hapenstanse's arm now works differently. Instead of it being like a metal appendage that works like a hand, well, it works somehow more primitively now but I can't figure out how yet. I'll manage. I replaced the huge advanced city with "Amulett City" which is a seaport on the southern coast of Karlisle. It's known for a few things; the diversity of races, it's port that houses many a-clipper ship and trading vessels, it's inns and taverns, and it's amphibious boats. Meaning boats that can go on land and water (sometimes even air). Since Amulett City is close to a giant sandy desert (strange, yeah) some of the ships are able to be sailed on the sand as if it were water. (More on that later.)
The world in which this story takes place has three intelligent races of beings. Humans, of course, are one. The others are anthros (animalish people) and Kolabians (an elf-like race). For the longest time, humans and anthros and kolabs were totally seperate from each other. No race ever interacted with another. But then something happened to make the anthros and the humans gain a kind of peace. Soon, both the anthro and the human territories were biracial. Humans and anthros coexisted. They soon made peace with the Kolabs, too. Though many Kolabs stayed in their home country, some migrated to the now tri-racial countries. The world was coming together in peace. Things were working out exceptionally.
And then slowly, the leaders of the races were coming together and further uniting the different countries into one. Soon, countries and territories began to appear that had no minorities; there was no race that was there first, or dominant. Karlisle and a few other countries were like this; a melting-pot of races and cultures. Slowly but surely the world's people were coming together and dismissing species and race as something you didn't need to judge by. The leaders worked together well, hardly any skirmishes or wars occured. With the combined races working together, different sciences emerged and new understandings were formed. Science, government, culture, everything flourished. It was a golden age. But it was not yet complete.
The rulers who were coming together and working together to create a united peace were still, in a way, "working out the bugs in the system". Important persons and leaders criss-crossed the sea that divided the countries to consult one another of these new laws and ways. Things had to be done to fully achieve this peaceful world they so hoped for. This plan to bring together the 3 races was called The Great Uniting.
So, as you can imagine, things were going swimmingly for this little planet. Things seemed to be going by and working out so easily--! How could this all be so simple? Some people chose to not think about why it was so easy for them to achieve such united peace. They stopped thinking about the possibilities of anything bad happening, because everything was going so well.
However, little did anyone know, a secret orginization of humans gathered. Needless to say, they were twisted and strong. They liked it better the way it was in the old days; when humans lived away from the anthros and kolabs. They thought "humans were superior" and they shouldn't "coexist with inferior species" and such. They continued to plot and scheme underneath the watchful eye of the united leaders and new government. No one knew of their existance, but rumors were spread and things were whispered in the taverns of Amulett City. Whispers of the Skull Cult, the greedy and twisted minds who planned to destroy what everyone has waited so long to see happen.
So, the story takes place in Amulett City, which is the port that all the leaders of the human countries used to get to the Kolabian and Anthronian (anthro = anthroninan?) countries.
A giant clipper ship on it's maiden voyage has stopped at Amulett City. Aboard the ship are human political leaders from across the sea, they've come to discuss The Great Uniting (TGU) with the leaders of the Anthro and Kolabian territories that surround Amulett City (because remember, Amulett City is a city in a nonspecific territory, no one race rules it). Rumor around the town is that a few of the people on that ship know something about the Skull Cult, the anti-TGU orginization. But those are just silly, diluted rumors you hear from the local crazy drunkard, right? Wrong.
This is where our characters come in.
Hapenstanse Osell, the dune goanna. Wayfinder Sharlight, the western mountain dragon. Jerry M. Drywrot, the kolab. Vendi Calvarez, the Laryysian feathered lizard. Some others, too, but I have yet to make up who's going to be included. They're basically a group of no-do-gooders who steal stuff and do bad things for money. They hide on the outskirts of town in some old abandoned buildings; their hideout. And they seem to be the only ones in Amulett City who know the truth about the Skull Cult. And this clipper ship coming into their port could be their ticket to glory and riches. But mostly riches.
Aaaaand that's all I'm telling you! 8D Wahaha! You know, I made half that up as I was going. But it sounds good to me, so why not! Woooooo!
I'm all excited now. This is going to be an awesome comic. This is why one of my resolutions is "get comic done" or whatever. See, this time I actually have a plot, an idea!! This is exciting for me. I can't wait to work out all the bugs so I can get started. Eeehehehe. :3
Aww, man, but school is almost started. Dx Crap. Hopefully it doesn't hinder my ability to be creative like I have in the past few days.
Oh, wow, I just realized I've spent way too much time and space writing this whole thing. I shall conclude my journal for tonight. If you read all that, post a comment and say what you think about my ideas and plot. Thanks, and goodnight. :3

Evil Amoeba Says:
It certainly sounds like it'd make for a good comic!
Anyway, here are just a few suggestions I thought of while reading. Regarding Amulett city's location near to both the ocean and a desert-- you should make a river run through the city that empties into the ocean. That way it can be like Cairo! Or something. Regarding the relationships between the three races: what exactly happened when they first encountered one another? Is each one of their countries economically self-sufficient? Otherwise they would have found it beneficial to keep contact with the other countries for trading purposes.
To make the Skull Cult a good antagonistic organization you should give them a methodology that, by itself, seems reasonable. I might also advise creating some parallels between them and some real-life racial supremacy groups. Additionally, is there something specific to the human culture that makes them want this to happen more than the other two races? Actually, cultural and religious differences between all three would be an interesting subject to touch upon.
I think that's about all I've got. Have you drafted any sort of world map for this place? Sometimes you can get ideas just by thinking about where all your important landmarks are laid out on a map. I'm eager to see where you go with this. =D
mander Says:
ooh it sounds really kool. i like the idea of more primitive rather than futuristic. very good.
it'll be neat to see what you do with it.
Stannous Nonpareil Says:
Whhooa, nice idea.
I bet it's gonna be awesome.

Also, I agree that religion would add a nice touch, which you already said you're working on, blah blah blah. Just saying. It's a. COOL IDEA.
Are there going to be like... clans... like in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? I dunno, the first thing that came to mind was that game.
BUT YEAH. COOOOL. Can't wait to see how it works out.
