I think I have an ear infection and its a bit bothersome. Its been somewhat wet inside of it and very red. Sometimes its crusty.
On happier note 5 more days until I get some time off and fly to my parents for the holidays.

Is there a clinic nearby where you are currently? If so, maybe some antibiotic eardrops can help clear it up sooner, at least before you fly, I hope.
Feeling every altitude change on the plane with an ear infection is excruciating; I should know, since I was stuck on a flight back from Europe with swimmer's ear.

May just be an infected insect bite, as odd as that sounds. Anyways, hope you have a safe trip up there.
