my laptop died. like, motherboard fried kind of died. i'm currently on a loaner, my mom's laptop, because i have the best mom ever and a massive paper due next week-ish. so i have all these COMPLETELY FINISHED comic pages, and no way of scanning them, unless i can wrestle the mac into playing nice with the scanner. hopefully that will work, or i'll get my laptop back, whichever. so i have new comics lined up, i swear, i just can't get them up. frustration, arg. want raider back sdjfkls;dfjl

ok so guys. i've been having like the best run of luck ever school-wise lately.

first i got accepted into my program. i was pretty happy with that. then i got asked to do an internship thing doing design work for the school. that was totally unexpected, but definitely a very good thing. then sort of recently, an opportunity to do some other design work for a music organization in new york city came up, so i replied to it, figuring it was worth a shot. it's not for credit or pay or anything, but it's actual design work, and the kind of stuff i've always wanted to be doing.

i heard back from them last week, and actually met with them today, and they flipped through my design portfolio, and i totally didn't expect them to be as enthusiastic as they were. basically, they're a nonprofit choral/orchestral/arts group. they have several different choir groups and youth music groups and stuff like that. they're doing a bunch of shows sometime soon at radio city and a handful of other places in manhattan, and they want me to do the promotional design stuff for it, like posters and that kind of thing.

this is kind of just hitting me now, like holycrap. i've done minor little design stuff before, but this is really the first actual design project i'm working on that someone is going to use to promote something, and it's kind of a big thing. i've always wanted to do stuff like this. X3

so um yeah. i'm in love with life and art and school and everything at the moment and just needed to share that.
