Ahh.I was gonna post a journal on our trip to Alton Towers... But soemthing happened today that really pissed me off, and i want to know you guys opinion on it, and if you think im over-exaggerating or whatever.
Anyway, Today when we were in the garden, me and mum found this bird... It looked like a pigeon... Only... not. We looked at it, and it had a badly injured wing, (probably a cat) and a ring around its ankle. I caught it in a pillowcase and picked it up, it was much lighter than i expected... anyway, me, my mum and my sister took it to the vets down our road, where in doing my work experience, and the vet said that she would try to find the person who owned the bird to give it back to them. Mysister had a dentist appointment, so i stayed in the vets with the bird, and everyone else went to the dentists. I was talking to the vet for a while, and we checked the ring on the birds ankle. While we were checking it, it jumped out of my hand and jumped bout a little, but i got it back soon after

It was the nicest, most gorgeous bird ever. I was so beautiful. Even though it was badly injured, it didnt try to peck me or anything. Anyway, We phoned this place, who told us the owner of the bird. We called them, Mr.Morrison his name was, and we told him the problem. We said its wing was injured, but its feet were perfectly fine, and it could flap its wings (from when it was jumping across the chairs) and he said he wanted to takeit back! I was delighted. He wanted the bird to be checked by the vet, and he said that then he would drive up and collect it. me and Vicky (the vet) phoned a place where they look after homing pigeons, and we were waiting for them to get back to us when we found out thatMr.Morrison would have to pay (a reduced amount becuase of the circumstances) to have the bird checked. We called him to check paying was okay, and as soon as he realised there was money involved, he completely changed his mind! He turned track and used crappyexcuses like,'Its to far,''Im blind and almost deaf, blahblah.' If he was bling and almost deaf, how did he plan on getting it back in the first place? >_> If he keeps lots of racing pigeons, he must be rolling in cash. So money wasnt a problem. He probably thinks it would be cheaper just to buy a new bird.
So he had it put down.
That really, REALLY pissed me off.I have this... thing. Im one of those 'Life is sacred' people. I cant believe anyone would be shallow minded enough to choose money over this birds life. I mean, if the bird was going to die anyway, it would be sad, but i think it would be okay. But it was fine except for its wing injury! It didnt act stressed or anything, it was sitting in my hands perfectly clamly the whole time. The attitude of this guy really pissed me off. I was so angry i could have fucking SCREAMED. Uugh. This is why i could NEVER be a receptionist in a vets. He was such a fucking BASTARD. Our grandad payed 350 FUCKING POUNDS to have his cats TOOTH out, which shows you how much he cared in comparison, £18.00 to save his birds life. He only wanted it for the sport, obviously its life didn't have any meaning to him whatsoever. I think that all animals have a right to life, I understand his mentality, but i think it was incredibly selfish and cruel to kill an animal just becuase he cant use it in his fucking racing sport anymore. Seriously, people nowadays and fucking MONEY. Money it like... the most imortant thing to people nowadays. Now moeny is valued over life. >_> because i believe life is sacred, and it should not be thrown away for no reason, this made me extremely angry and uspet. Even if he couldnt use it in his sport, he could have TRIED to help it. When our hamster was DYING, i still paid for a vet to see if we could do anything. In the end, we had him put down, but it was becuase he was going to die soon, and i didnt want him to be in pain. I have some photos of him, he was beautiful

Alfie...he was really gentle and nice too. I will never forget him. I will post them here if you want to see him

And when my rabbit looked off-colour, i took her to the vet, and paid for the bill. She was actually fine <D; She's in the hutch downstairs, bless her
And the bird was beautiful. We would have taken it home ourselves and looked after it, but we already have pets, we have no other pigeons, and it would probably just want to go home. It was probably used to living with other birds, so it would have been unhappy with us. Besides, we don't have a clue how to keep pigeons, and we dont have anywhere to keep it. But i still can't help feeling guilty... I also wanted to pay to check it, But the guy didnt want to pay for the wing to be repaired, so there was no point. I can't pay for surgery if the bird needed it.
Wow. I never normally post journals about this kind of thing. But it pissed me off and made me so upset I had to rant about it. Sorry.
beccajo Says:
Wow, that's horrible. The poor thing! It also makes me sick how he chose such a meager amount of money over an animal's life. It's not like it was hundreds of dollars or anything.
People like that make me angry, and wish that something horrible would happen to them in return. I would glady accept the karma in return for wishing him bad luck.
Sprech4 Says:
D: That's terrible. Even if it is just for sport, I can't believe he just went and let the thing die. =( Poor birdy.
Esper Says:
come on...it happens sorry for being harsh but im felling really harsh and mean....
