Really, I'm serious, I hope it lives as long as possible.

Here's my problem. A while ago (month or two... I guess, hard to remember), my computer started acting up a little more and more. It would "stall" often (freezing up for just short periods of time, when opening programs, whatnot) and would start to get a little noisy when doing everyday activities.

I figured that it was just because my install of Windows XP is the same I've had for four years. The bastards, when I bought my computer, never gave me any kind of install or reboot disk for XP, so I've never reinstalled it. My computer's never had a full blown crash either, so it was never neccessary. After talking with a friend who has helped me deal with my computer for years, we came to the conclusion that I should just do a clean install.

Well, until I get a chance to borrow a Windows XP Home disk from a friend, I decided to work on clearing junk off my computer, and I noticed it's been getting noisier lately. Thus, I asked my friend, FET-kun, if the loud, obnoxious grinding noise my hard drive elicits when doing various tasks was due to an old install or something physically wrong.

...Yeah, apparently my HD is on it's way out. This sucks, obviously because I love my computer... but the timing is even worse, because I'm poor because of college... so I couldn't get a new HD for quite a while if this one dies on me.

So, I'm busy backing up EVERYTHING, because I have no clue how much time this HD has left before I need to replace it.

On the Back-Uping note, I need to figure out how to sort my art... I'm going to all the oekakis and places I have my art and through all my back-ups and resorting all my files, but I can't figure out exactly HOW to sort them. A lot of it is fanart, so should I sort it by the fandom it belongs to, or should I sort my art by the medium... pencil, sketches, fully colored, oekaki... I have no clue what would actually work best for me. I just know I stuff all my PSDs and PDDs in one folder and everything else is scattered to hell and back.

Yes, this is overly nitpicky, but I like my files being organize, despite my room looking like a bomb went off in it.
