Today me and my mom woke up and picked my dad up on the road after the ride him and his buddies did. We took some pictures listened to the birds and just had some fun before we went driving around and got something to eat. Then we went back to the Motel room and ate while my dad took a shower. Then we went back out and went to this wine tasting room for Bedfords winery, I really liked their Gewurztraminer, and a couple of their reds, but I did not like the Syrah or the Petite Sirah. I think its because its such a strong red that I just don't like it, I don't like the taste, I tend to like the lighter reds, like the Merlot, the Cabernet Franc, and certain Cabernet Sauvingons. Syrahs and Petite Sirahs I have yet to like. ;

After that we went for a small drive and went to a winery called Kalyra (cal-eye-ra) it was really busy and really noisy, and many of the people there looked like they were at the end of their wine tasting tours cause they were VERY happy. So we waited and the first wine we tried was a Chardonnay, that was rich and crisp, it was one of the first Chardonnays that I really liked. Then we tried a Riesling that was off-dry, it was rich and crisp, and had a very nice finish. the nezt one was a Gewurztraminer and it was also an off-dry wine, that had just an amazing finish. It was very clean and crisp, I loved it.

Then we had their reds one was called MC squared and it was 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Canbernet Sauvignon, the other was a Cabernet Sauvignon. They were both good, but me and my mom both thought that they needed to sit for another year or two before they would be really ready to drink. We found out later the owner likes to release the reds as soon as they've been bottled. I guess some people like to drink red wine as soon as they've been bottled.

Then we had their desert wines, one was called Orange Muscat, and itwas just an amazingly rich wine that had a wonderful finish. It was just sweet enough, and it was just an amazing wine. the Aussie Tawny Port was also just as amazing, it was also sweet had a slight maple and raisin taste, but oh it was so good, I really enjoyed it, my mom agreed with me that it would probably go good with ice cream, or some kind of chocolate desert. But oh it was so good.

I was only going to get a bottle of the Riesling and the Gewurztraminer, so was my mom so we could have two of each and a bottle of the Chardonnay, but I liked almost everything so much that we ended up getting one Chardonnay, two Riesling, two Gewurztraminer, two Orange Muscat, and two Aussie Tawny Port. So now that I've spent all the money that I allowed myself for this trip, I'm kind of bummed, but not really since this winery had some amazing wines. My mom joined the wine club there so now we'll get two bottles of wine every three months, we'll get discounts on wine, and we get free wine tastings for up to six people. I'm so happy! ;

After that we went to dinner and had an amazing dinner, that ended with a cordial, I had Creme de Menth, it was green, but it was so good. I was so happy. ^^ Today was a good day, I had a lot of fun. ^^
